    SPG hose leak

The ap hp hoses has a swivel in the threaded end. Right?
Cool for mounting with the hose routed along the lungs.

However, both my hoses leaks occasionally from this swivel. Is this a known issue, perhaps with a known solution? Hoses are only a couple of years old.

    Regards
    Dennis

    Re: SPG hose leak

I had a similar issue with my hp hoses leaking from the swivel joint, also not particularly old. Had to send them back to get recrimped, there was a small charge as they were outside the warranty period. Def seems to be an issue with them as I've had other hoses leaking in a similar way. I think what caused the problems was pressurising the hose when it was pressed up against the side of the box causing the swivel joint to flex slightly. I now make sure the hp hose and swivel is clear when pressurising.

AP HP hoses always leaked for me until I switched to another brand.

Thank you for sharing your experiences.

I'll give ap a call and see what they have to say.
Otherwise switching to another brand sounds like a bulletproof solution. The swivel is a nice feature though...

My hoses had only the standard swivel at the gauge and were leaking from the crimping.

The male end? No, that is not a swivel. Although it does turn with force, you are turning the spindle inside the hose and if you do that regularly, it will no doubt loosen over time.

Stick to the SPG/female end for all your swivelling needs :)
