    Hyperoxic myopia and contact lenses

Hello all, I'm back one week from 11 days of CCR diving, about 42 hours mostly at 1.3. I am enjoying having my distance vision back, as is characteristic after my longer trips. But this time I was wearing my newly fitted daily contact lenses. About day 8 I could not get my contacts to stay/stick in one of my eyes. I tried again the next morning with no success. Have any of you had a similar experience wearing contacts during a multi day dive trip? My guess is that as my eye saturated with O2, the surface texture of my cornea changed in such a way the contact lenses wouldn't adhere to it. Does this make sense, or is it just a coincidence? I'm told contacts sometimes just don't stick on some days. Any personal experience or anecdotes will be appreciated... -Andy

I've never had any problems with Contacts during multiday diving. E.g. 12 days diving, 2 dives a day, average 4-5 hours in the water, PO2 1.2 etc

    I use clariti® 1 day disposable lenses
