Who is driving carbon tanks with plastic liner?
It's quite known that they tend to diffuse water dump= freezing 1. stage.

I'm running > 10 bootle's, all with alu linner, since years.

At 300 bar working pressure, witch I do seldom, tested at 450 and in literature good to burst usually at over 800bar. So, when you treat them carefully. Why you fear bursting?
I fear more the shop or divecenter fill specialists I sometime have to handover in our holidays!

Many people in the dive industry tend to generalization when it comes to carbon fiber tanks. That's not fair because, all CF tanks are not created equally. Many of the CF tanks used by firefighters, etc are simply made of CF and if they are knicked or compromised in any way they can be prone to issues. Because of these tanks, the entire dive industry has a bad impression when it comes to CF tanks. That's just not comparing apples to apples.

Most of the CF tanks making their way around the dive industry for rebreathers are a different animal altogether. Please note, I said "most". For the ones I am most used to seeing they are not simply a tank made of CF. They are aluminum tanks, wrapped with CF and then wrapped in fiberglass. It's also important to note that these tanks come with slightly different forms of additional support. Many come with support rings and some are fully lined with an additional wrap for extra support. These tanks meet and exceed the fill capacity of the usual aluminum or steel tanks in today's market.

I might also add, no tank is full-proof. We have all heard the stories about aluminum and steel tanks also having issues.

It's also fair to say that any LDS has the right to decide if they want to fill any kind of tank...it's their right to choose. Many of them know exactly what they are dealing with and just choose not to mess with CF tanks. That's cool. Everyone has the right to decide for themselves.

On the other hand, we all know there are those dive shops that have an issue with anything to do with rebreathers, period. Maybe we just refer to them as "OC safe spaces" or "OC Sanctuaries Shops". Then no one will be made to feel uncomfortable, cause we know that's a real issue these days. That's also cool because any business is allowed to decide how they want to participate in an industry. I just wish they did not jump to conclusions when they may not have all the facts.

    Hope this helps.

What is interesting.... Carbon Fiber tanks outside the USA fill to higher pressure then our steel and aluminum tanks. The USA does not understand how to deal with CB tanks completely as a standard practice across the board yet.

    Best regards,

I agree with everything you say .
I have a small issue is that my IT I did with him all technical courses , but in ccr he teach only one unit and he is also the dealer of that brand so I have to buy the unit and study that specific unit .
CCR is a big investment so I decide to get a rEvo and take course in Bali with Mark Crane
since then things aren't good , I can't use my unit with him and can't fill up that carbon tanks , but as you say he have the right , I decide to get my booster and fill up my o2 by myself and I will dive the unit with other instructors
I just want to know is the carbon fiber tanks that bad and I should change it , or its just the issue that I didn't get the one that he sell and it crew more problems

    rEvo is all you need!!!!

Re: 2L rEvo carbon tank explode ?

You dont even need a booster, its Nice but not necessary.

Nothing wrong with carbons, just fill them slowly just like any other steel or alu bottle

I did exactly the same thing I ended with 4 carbon fiber that they wont fill up so I have to take s80 to fill up in diving center and decant to small tanks but pressure drop faster so I guess a small booster will help me and save time as I can boot from s80 when pressure drop below 100
