    Al,I just l just lined up the closest holes as you see in the above photo and used 2 peice bookshelf screws ,the ones with the oring on them and tightend them with a drop of locktite. Setup does not budge 1 bit. I like the diverite plate on the inside closer to my butt.

    I do what Blazer383 does. Have holes drilled in my the bottom of the split backplate and use quick links or sex bolts to attach.

    I will just add that I no longer use the a buttplate. I've found Light Monkey's Bailout Attachment System to be superior since it doesn't get in the way as much as the buttplate and the unit can stand up.

    I also usually use one of DSix's stands when I am not traveling.
