    Travel with canister dive light

Just ask if someone recently traveld with some diving lights as carry on. Just read the transportation rules on Akkus changed and so I'm wondering if somebody made different experience.

Have to travel in December and want to have my mb sub with me..

    Thanks on any support..

I just traveled to and from Bonaire with my Underwater Light Dude 3500 lumen light. I have the big 160 battery. My carry-on bag got inspected, but no other issues. I had an info sheet documenting that the light was safe for air travel from UWLD printed out just in case.

I have had to move mine from checked to my carry on. I have never had any other issues.

Re: Travel with canister dive light

I've recently travelled to Cancun with a UW Lightdude LD-35 and large battery, as carry-on from LAX... The batteries got the full scrutinizing (multiple passes throug the X-ray scanner and explosives residue testing) from the TSA, but that's been the norm every time I've travelled with it. Interestingly, to me, both of the times that I have taken it to Mexico, the Mexican authorities made me check it in the return trip, but they also made me check all of the Ni-MH AA batteries for my camera strobes and I've no idea why...

This morning I went through security in Bologna, Italy, with my canister light without issue. The only question asked was "what is this?" Which was less inquisitive than the TSA enquiries on the first leg of this adventure. I hope that it continues to be the same, for the rest of this trip....

UWLD light users should ALWAYS carry this with them printed

    http://uwlightdude.com/air-travel/

    http://uwlightdude.com/wp-content/up...-Cert-2015.pdf

get you out of trouble for sure. ALL light companies should provide this (the really important part is the certification on second page of pdf). if they don't, ask. if they can't provide it or wont, your light could become an expensive piece of TSA trash.
