Meg travel case SKB iSeries 2213-12

I have been looking for a travel case for my Meg. I don't mind checking it into the hold and I won't be carrying cylinders. This case looks like an ideal size for the can, backplate, harness, counterlungs, regs and wings.

I would be grateful for any feedback on SKB cases in general and, this case in particular.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mark.

I fit mine in a cheap roller carry-on. Standard can just barely fits. Ends up being pretty heavy but don't care, its with me.

I would not check it as the coverage for damage or theft is pathetic.

+1, for the innocuous roller carry-on.

Everything for my cave can rig, sans the backplate and harness, fits nicely (including most of my spares). On the last trip, it weighed in at 49#'s, which could be problematic, if the airline were to check carry-on weight (as happens in some countries).

    Thanks for the responses.

I'm in Australia, carry on baggage is frequently checked. I have to assume I am going to check the unit in.

    regards,

Interesting, in North America if it gets "gated checked" that usually means its a tiny plane where the overhead bins are small and don't handle a normal sized carryon. But you pick it up at the stairs on the way out. So a lot less airline handling. I'm not sure a hard case plus my standard (non-shaved) canister can get under the 50lb checked bag limit? Mine is brutally heavy as I'm trying to keep that weight out of my checked bags.
