    The chest-mounted O2PTIMA

ive been looking at the optima as a choice of RB as Im no Ccr diver yet, but when I saw optima the maker/ engineer in me saw a possible chest mounted RB like the white arrow but fully Eccr and can be used as a bob or main with side mounted gas or back mounted double's with o2 on side. What are your thoughts?
I have it on paper in drawing's

What kind of dives do you want to do with a chest mounted unit?

I can tell you there are exactly zero chest mounted units actively used in the PNW. A few in people's closets and such (like old Russian O2 RBs), but nobody is diving our local sites in chest mounted CCRs. Locally, you would need to take MOD1 on a backmounted unit, there is zero training available on sidemounted CCRs here and even less on a front mounted unit.

It looks like you are planning to move the canister and head to the bottom of the rebreather instead of the top. I'm not sure what that will do to hydrostatic load and WOB.

I understand it is for chest mounted application. But that doesn't change the physics of having the canister toward your feet vs toward your head.
