    Custom Checklists

Plagued with a gnarly bout of insomnia tonight (well, last night, now) I've been tweaking my checklist for a little while.

Leaving aside the fact that obviously everyone religiously uses a checklist each and every time, I'm wondering how many people use the "official" checklist, be it a manufacturer's or a training agency's vs. how many people use their own.

Then of those of you who use your own, just how comprehensive is it?
Do you rock a million steps, like "218) Lightly grease the O-ring on the inhale hose. 219) Lightly grease the o-ring on the exhale hose?"
Or are you more a "Gases on, LP buttons work, Pre-breathe" sort of person?

I'm curious to see what people cook up.
As a gesture of good-faith curiosity, mine's attached.
(I claim no responsibility whatsoever for its safety/correctness. Follow your training, etc. etc. If you think following some anonymous schmuck from the internet's checklist is going to keep you safe, well... yeah... your flowchart is already a bit flawed.)

    Re: Custom Checklists

I found the manufacturer's one missed a few things that are important and easy to skip/forget, and that the manufacturer's one took twice as long to go through just because of the order of how I rig and their step sequence.

    ASSEMBLY CHECKLIST – night before
    Verify or refill scrubber
    Check scrims & o-rings.
    Check electrics.
    Assemble bucket.
    Mushroom check.
    Loop assemble, including MAVs.
Inflate loop and begin +ve check.
    Attach cylinders & open valves
    Check cylinders are full!
Check IP on both cylinders (O2 @ 7.5bar, dil 7-10).
    Check BCD inflator & BOV/Alternate
    +ve check complete – OK?
    Check MAVs and OPV
    Note SPGs, close both cylinders.
    Open mouthpiece, check ADV.
    Close ADV shutoff, -ve check.
    Pack other gear. Check barometer.
    -ve check complete – OK?
Check SPGs – any IP leaks?
Power up handsets, check for battery warning.
Power up HUD, check for function.
    Open O2 cylinder again.
    Calibrate. Watch cells during flush.
    Calibrate HUD.
    Close O2 cylinder.
    Breathe it – holding setpoint?
    Purge O2 IP into loop.
    Manual air flush of unit:
    - PPO2 linear and tracking?
    - Buzzer & solenoid at 0.4?
Power down master, check for handover or slave battery warning.
    Power down slave.
    Breathe down to 0.21.
    Power down HUD.
    Depressurise DIL side.

    rEvo is all you need!!!!

    Re: Custom Checklists

It looks like a very good list.... I don't know or I would have the discipline to use a long list like that for every dive. I do use a check list but just the one from the manufacturer ( rEvo )
I think it does what it's designed for.
