URSUIT FIR deep heat system - my personal experience

My experience with the URSUIT FIR deep heat system:
Short story, ordered oct, told there is a delay as they are working on an improved battery as the old one can fail in diving conditions, received the new model first week of December.
Took it for a weekend diving and to my disappointment, I couldn't turn on while underwater. The switch it's incorporated in the battery pack, which it's waterproof, and kept in a pocket under the drysuit. My opinion is that once the surrounding pressure increases, the sealing membrane covering the switch (push in type) sticks inside, pressing the switch continously, resulting in locking the settings, with no solution underwater. Outside the water, switch works with no issues.
I have emailed URSUIT and they reply that it's a known issue and because of that they only recommend the vest for recreational diving, when the vest can be turned on before the dive, and keep it on till the end of the dive. That's not something I wanted the vest for, so I emailed back and asked for refund. Four days later, and I'm still waiting for a reply...

Who asked you to use it for diving? Ursuk produces rescue suits, suits for canoeing, fishing etc. drysuits for other water activity, where this product is mainly aimed. I have been using it for shallow dives also, but as you said, you have to turn it on and lock battery before closing your drysuit. Not that bad in cold weather (summer painful) because heating sensation starts quite slowly. Soon I will have system to use vest with external battery. System allows any voltage between 7-14 volts . Im not allowed to tell more about it right now.

    Cheers Jari

Can the switching mechanism be altered to allow for activation underwater?
