But I heard via via that a new handset already died too.
I had no issues with the piezo-buttons and heard nothing negative about the new ones. Do you have a link to the story/report of the new buttons failing?

I have seen the handset at the Dive Show and it looked pretty robust.

    Cheers
    Matt.

How are the experiences now with the new handset?
I am on the list for august for the upgrade. I need a reliable unit in september for a long tropical cavetrip.

The handset I heard from there where problems with was not the handset, but the chargable battery.

I have not had any battery issues at the moment.

I was so close to upgrading my battery system. But I have a relatively inexpensive source for the current batteries: local photographers club buys in bulk and I add to their purchase power.
