    Locline style arms on scooter

    Hi all,

I've always used classic photo arms with clamps for my video setup.

Now I'm tempted changing to locline arms.
I mostly dive with my camer mounted on a scooter.

Any experience/feedback if locline will bend/turn on a scooter ride?

    Don't do it.

I've about decided that loc line isn't worth the hassle for mounting pretty much anything for diving. It constantly gets moved around and is a general PITA.

I use them (larger style) for video lights on my Bluefin housing. I'm currently running twin 24W HIDs with large video reflectors. Just swimming can move them around, as can the weight of the light since the Salvos I'm running have the ballast in the light head.

I also have the smaller style that came with the housing for use with the L&M halogen video lights. They were more solid, but still pretty easily moved.

While LocLine works great for ease of positioning (esp. one-handed) and for quickly moving a light to better illuminate a closeup shot, I can't imagine they'd be good for the static application you have...

Agreed, I have had nothing but problems using Locline for light mounts on my scooter.
They never stay put, I have tried putting rubber hose inside as a stiffener, still not worth the hassle.

    YMMV.
