    Hi Rebreather friends...

Can anyone direct a total neophyte to tips on rebreather buoyancy?

    Thanks!

    Sorry Roger,
please think to the time when you learned OC diving...
It's the same problem, only vicy versa...
You have to "unlearn" OC diving...

In OC you have to buoyancy by dry suite and jacket/wing.
With a rebreather you have to use additionally your counterlung.
By descending you fill your counterlungs automatically. But by ascending you must drain your counterlung by exhale through your nose.

I think we all had this problem. And we had to drill and drill and drill...
And in a short time it is easy

hi roger I have found that the best way to dump gas from your loop on accent is to blow the gas out of the side of your mouth in this way you can dump a lot of gas quickly if you have to and it becomes second nature very quickly if you are using a full face mask you will need to blow gas out of your nose and it will vent out thru the perge valve or use the dump valve on your counter lungs if one is fitted either way it takes time to attain good buoyancy with your rebreather as opposed to your oc diving
    cheers

I blow it out through my nose...not in big bursts but slowly as you ascend
It takes a little time to get it just right but it soon feels really natural...and it is soooooo much better than oc!
Enjoy your unit and dive as much as possible..it will come..and will be well worth it .
