Having dived a JJ for the past 2.5 years, I've never encountered this T-piece issue you speak of. In fact it doesn't really make any sense, as noone routinely installs the T-pieces. You would only do that when replacing a set of counter lungs.

The loop ain't that big, and I'm unaware of all the failure points it has introduced.

I've heard this over and over again for and against most Rebreathers. The ones who champion excellent WOB of certain units usually judge them in the bell ringer position, head up with feet down hanging on a line. When your in proper trim with knees at shoulder level the WOB changes drastically on a lot of units.

Seems why BMCL gets a bad rap.

I have two sentinels, and dive them both in standard config & travel frame. I and everybody else I know who dives them do not complain about WOB in the horizontal. I only conclude that if somebody has bad experience it is due to their setup?

I didnt think that was what he was saying?

Its just that rear lung units dont breath so well if your vertical.

Prety much all units breath well in the horizontal position.

I defo noticed the increase in WOB on all of my units in the vertical position.

I believe the quote is: "it breathes very well when vertical but not good in proper trim"

I can only speak from my own experience. I dive a Sentinel Expedition with FMCL, it breathes extremely well vertically as well in proper horizontal trim.

Whether its true of not the important question is why so many divers are in a vertical position all the time?

I've never felt the need to stand up and walk around the seabed, much quicker to swim in horizontal trim, occasionally go head down in a hole or when screaming down the shot but never vertical upright, why would anyone do that?

Its abit like CO2 monitors and triplicate computers, don't get distracted by the extras, concentrate on a good solid working rebreather- all the brands listed breath well enough, otherwise they wouldn't have sold 100's of units and be off doing huge dives.

Discounting a unit that is otherwise perfect for the WOB in a position you never need is nuts, don't be suckered by marketing BS, try the units if you don't believe me.

I find dancing a jig helps with off gassing

I would have thought the extra energy used by your eyes looking at those lungs would have sped up your metabolism enough to promote increased off gassing...
