I was told not to use this. I don't think you will find many people who will.

I have used HP Sodasorb for several years with no issues except that it is more dusty then some of the others like Sofnolime. It was made by Grace and was not labelled as Medical Grade and was recommended for diving applications. Here is the web page of the material I used. HP was the diving grade and LF is the medical grade. I have used it in an Inspiration, Kiss Classic and Meg. Both indicating and non-indicating types.

Sodasorb HP 4-8 Mesh is a long-lasting formulation that removes CO2 for hours

The supplyer say that he has jsut Sodasorb on disposition, this is the other medical grade sodasorb beside Sodasorb LP.
He say it is the same as Sodasorb HP which has just more dust in it.

Se will send me some datasheet for it.

Yes I used to use it years ago, until we sent some to Paul R. to test it. He reported it tested so bad, we should have been dead already. I had confidently predicted it was the same as diving sorb... couldn't have been more wrong.

There is a thread on here somewhere that I am too lazy to look up, but best advice is don't use it.

Edit: this was the molecular 4-8 medical sorb we were using. Can't find a link to it, but it came in a 5 gallon bucket.

OK curiosity got the best of me, and I found the thread. Paul's response and testing results begin here, at post 67. http://www.rebreatherworld.com/showthread.php?t=28824

This was known as Airgas sorb, but that's who sold it. It was manufactured as medical grade by Molecular Products.

I took a hit while diving medical grade sorb. I'm lucky to be here. Never again.

I initially used the "Airgas" sorb. I helped pay to ship some to Paul for testing, and now I'm using Sofnoline 797 in my KISS Classic. I used the Grace for a while inbetween the two brands, but it was really dusty.

Seems dust is the reason producer/Grace suggests to use normal Sodasorb, and not marine grade.....
