Any good diving in the Florida keys??

I m off to stay with some friends in the Florida keys in Oct/Nov time.

Is the weather any good then for diving?I ll be staying Isla Morada I believe.

Are there any good wreck sites near there and any rebreather friendly dive stores? Anywhere I can hire some cylinders if I was to take my meg?

    Thanks

You have the Queen of Nassau off Alligator light. My fave wreck evah! Former Canadian coast guard vessel (their first I believe) complete with ram bow, 2 spare screws in the sand plus spidge everywhere.

Wilkes Barre, Kendrick and Curb in Key West, Northern Light in Key Largo. Plus the famous artificial reefs Spiegel Grove, Duane, Bibb, Vandenberg, Thunderbolt and Adolphus Busch.

October has been flat calm in the past with water still in the 80's. Based on the pattern for this year so far, expect it to be windy. November is a crap shoot. Could be great, could be blown out.

I own a CCR specialist shop in key largo, about half an hour from Islamorada. I have sorb, cells, CCR bottles, bailout tanks, dive boats and Evos, Sentinels and Poseidons for rent. Plus Im English and can translate your Bar, DIN and Kilos:)

Come check us out. Let me know if you want anything deep planned. Im always up for a dive on the deep wrecks and I can organize logistics and buddies to help split the cost

+1 on Silent world, they took real good care of me last month and we did 6 straight days of diving, mostly wrecks. Chris and his staff run great operation.
    Cheers,

    Dave....

That sounds excellent, I m not into deep stuff, only mod 1 still at the mo.

hmm, do I bring my meg then or just hire a Sentinel??? Travelling is not really a Sentinels strong point!

I shall contact you nearer the time then after I have definite dates to see if we can arrange anything.

    Thanks

Sure, as soon as you know dates drop me an email at chris@silentworld.com and Ill set up some dives for you. Spiegel, Duane & Bibb would be perfect for you. Average depth 25-30m and you can spend an hour and a half BT on them if you like.
