    Sharkskin underwear

    Hi all.

I'm looking for Sharkskin underwear for drysuits. I seen that on a french website:Matériel - Nouvelle EvoluStar? - Sharkskin, une? - Plongeur.com? - Initiation au? - Quand le Dragon se? - Le blog de Barbuzard

Of course only in french, but a great site, thanks Barbuzzard.

I checked the Sharkskin site and can't find something for drysuits with front zipper. Anyone an idea?

    Thanks & greets,

    P.

    For exemple here:

Magasin de plonge en ligne - Boutique accessoires plonge et matriel de chasse - Palanquee News

PS: I have nothing to do with them, just live nearby

Just ordered it and very curious about it. Anyway I trust Barbuzard's advise. Even without know him personaly. It for sure make sense on long dives if drysuit has a leak or so.

    Cheerz,

I have a set of these that are over 3 years old now ,here in australia I wear them as a wet suit in water from 21 deg up , they are about as warm as a 3/4 mm suit but fully dry in about a hour in the sun so never have to put on a wet wet suit . I have used as a undersuit under my seaskin shell suit down to 16deg for up to a hour but we Australians are born tuff lol .

I have sharkskin pants and vest.

They make very good drysuit insulation.

    Hey Ozzies.

OK, for warm water down under. Here the lakes are frozen and water temperature ist 3-4°C. So I guess need another thermal protection inbetween the Sharkskin & drysuit. I well test all this and come back.

BTW I thinking using the Sharkskin as wet suit in Red Sea vacantion soon, there water will be +- 20 °C. Maybe I should take drysuit also, just in case we made long deco dives (which I doubt, I dont have a buddy)

    Cheers,

    Patrick

    Hi B,
Here in south of France I know a few guys who are using this stuff under their drysuit in winter (water around 5-10deg). It provides very good insolation because you do not get wet from your own sweat and on top of that they claim that in case of leak of your drysuit, it provide minimal insolation.
For them it is not cheap but worth every euros.

    Hi B
I think that for the 20 deg water you are gonna be borderline if you dive more than 45 min with only the sharckskin. Maybe you can use a hooded vest on top to protect your head and the higher part of your body.
Or maybe you are a tough belgian guy :o)))
The aussies are thinking they are tough... I suggest then to try to dive with Swiss, swedes or germans and they will know about tough boys... ;))

    Anyway take care guys
    Safe dive

    Re: Sharkskin underwear

5-10°C are the most common temperatures for me even in summer. So this suit is perfect I guess. Cant wait to test it. Thanks for your help!
