Halcyon makes something of their own design? That should be front page news!

    Re: Hollis Pathseeker Reel

i would have bought one, but after waiting 6 weeks i ordered a Light Monkey reel instead.

Since then I've had a chance to use the Hollis reel.

Really glad I bought the LM now :)

I like the Hollis reels just fine.... they may be a "copy" but they are a good copy! :)

Smooth, reliable and durable. I have had one for a while now and I enjoy using it.

Plus they are over 40% off right now at Dive Addicts

The 400 ft and the 800 ft are on sale until the end of the year....

    Re: Hollis Pathseeker Reel

As said before a copy of the Halcyon Pathfinder.

Which is good because the Halcyon Pathfinder is a very well designed bt of kit. I baught my one in 2003 and its still giving great service.

Unlike the Halcyon Gaters i baught which were shit and fell apart in two years and lessthan 20 fresh water dives

So not a "Halcyon is the best" person by any streatch of the imagination but credit where its due the, Pathfinder is well worth the extra few quid.

Does Hollis do anything besides rip off other mfg.'s?

Pathfinder becomes a Pathseeker......sleezy business practices.

    Re: Hollis Pathseeker Reel

Looks like a well built reel...Price seems fair when compared to Halcyon. Then again Halcyon you pay for the name as part of the product. Not all Halcyon products are worth the price, they too have ripped off a few ideas, changing things and calling it Their own. So in their defence, Got to admit...Pathfinder-Pathseeker, Hollis could have come up with a less than obvious same name copy as same reel copy...cheesy to say the least but they are not the first company to do this......
