Only about three spots left for this trip with RJ Diving. So far, Monkey and I are booked. Anyone else interested?

What's the gulf stream doing up there?

It's a mile off the reef here, might be interested in popping up

Let me draw a picture for you.

    The title states:
    Labor Day 2011/Doc Demilly Trip/Miami
and therefore it means that the wreck is the "Doc Demilly"
    and going out of "Miami"

In Howard's opening text he stated:
Only about three spots left for this trip with RJ Diving.
and therefore the charter is "RJ Diving"

Jeez Don, is this what happens when you cant have sex anymore? I am not from Miami, and not familiar with the docks down there. I am in addition not familiar with the Doc Demilly. I was trying to get more info because unlike you I might be able to dive this week-end. Please heal up soon.

You never know. It seems to kick up whenever I decide to make the trip. I just hope that the sea gods are in as good a mood as they were a few weeks ago, when we did that SG trip with you.

On a good day, this is perhaps the nicest wreck in the Miami area. It is located between Miami and the start of the Keys.

The Gulfstream can run right through the area on any given day, in which case the current will be screaming. When it isn't, it is a great dive. Vis will usually be better here than off of the main parts of Miami. We almost always see about five eagle rays that swoop in throughout the dive. There are also a number of goliath groupers that hang out around the wreck. We occasionally see some bullsharks, too.

Max depth is about 155 fsw. Second dive will be to another wreck in about the 135-140 fsw range. They cater lunch on the dive boat.

I last dived the Doc Demilly in March 2008. It was a excellent dive and the current was quite high and it took some work getting down to the wreck but ended up being well worth it. Eagle Rays hovering, Bull Shark and even a Sailfish. Here is Adrian trip report and pictures.
