which electronics for the classic kiss

Hi guys/gals, i am playing with the idea of getting electronics for my classic kiss, now i would like ot have a poll on which ones you would prefer and perhaps why as well.
Here are the options i know about:
    1. Hammerhead
    2. Shearwater
    3. Hydrospace
    4. Uri's RB Guardian
    5. Other (please specify)

Now which one would you get, not based on money, i would like to know based to facts.

    kind regards
    Jonny

    Jonny,

I was/am the crash test dummy for 1. and 2. and have written up detailed posts for the KISS-owners list in case you missed them.

    3. I have not seen it on any unit except for the REALLY ugly-looking set-up on Tom's unit.

    4. Does Uri's unit do set-point control now ? I thought it only show PO2 via HUD.

    5. Tech-Blue is still threatening to introduce a controller soon. I don't know it is a co-operative effort with another source in California that I know have been working on one for ~1.5 years.

    Hi Phi,
Yes i have missed it on the list... ;)
about Uri's i believe that he has 3 different models, one HUD, one with decompression computer and one he calls extended range, now the information is not alot, but i took for granted that the extended range, down to 160m would be with soleinoid and set point control...

i'll read all about your post on the list, thanks. Which one do you prefer of the two?

    /Jonny

Since one worked and one didn't, take a guess...

Anyway, I don't know if Bruce will continue to make anything for the Classic-KISS or will he concentrate only on the Sport-KISS though...

    Hi

I would vote Hammer Head for a full CCR conversion based on the wide spread usage and data for the unit. However this is what £2600??

Uriís HUD is not a set point controller. It will allow manual running of the unit via a HUD rather than looking at your hand sets all the time and you can link in a VR3 as redundancy. The Standard unit is rated to 100m and the extended unit is rated to 160m. Apart form the type of through scrubber connector used I donít think there is any difference in the units and there is definitely no difference in their operation.

It works off all three cells individually so itís a great bit of kit and at £700 a lot cheaper than the Hammerhead full CCR option.

    Still, £1900 (?) for basically a HUD device ?

You could buy a CCR unit at that price and simply raise your wrist to see the PO2...

No the unit costs £700 i think i paid another 100 for the VR3 linked in through the HUD

Its worth noting that all the new electronic CCR have a HUD. There IS a reasion for this.

    Sorry, misread your post.

Still £700 is a ridiculous price (IMHO) for the ROI.

Ive just finished making my hud for my mk15.5. I know its not the same but just thought Id mention that I was quoted US$300 for one - I built it for US$12 (yes twelve)
