    Hi Chris,

Mind sharing what happened? Did you push the scrubber too far? Was this in cold water?

I know you've been getting close to the limit and your experience could really help the rest of us

Not much of a story really. Was at the end of second dive of two and approaching 2 hours on the scrubber. Found myself super aware of checking for symptoms whilst waiting for OC buddy deco to finish. I basically want some confirmation that there is still scrubbing going on.....

Nice setup. Looks very neat with the new scrubber. Do you have a kiss valve or are you totally manual ?

    Chris
Thanks, I have been playing around with both options. The setup in the photo is with a megladon valve with a 0.75 orifice.

    Re: Ray Scrubber question

    Hello,

Just adding to the pool of data regarding the standard Ray scrubber duration in CCR mode.

Yesterday I did two dives each to about 18m in 7 deg C water:

    Pre-dive and buoyancy checks: 10min
    First dive: 33min

    Second pre-dive: 5min
    Second dive: 45min

Total time on the loop: 93min

Iíve decided to limit the durations to 100mins for the standard scrubber and 150mins for the larger scrubber. While I think the scrubber would go on longer, I see these figures as safe working limits.

Interestingly the first dive stopped early because we had an open circuit diver with us who had a badly leaking shoulder dump so couldn't maintain buoyancy. This happened after his complaints that CCR and twinset divers take too long to get ready! I wonder if he was reflecting on this point while were lifting him up from 18m?Ö.

    Hi Matt,

It seems that you're still diving with the stock scrubber a lot- is this because you were only planning two short dives or does the longer scrubber have a higher WOB rate as some initially feared?

    Re: Ray Scrubber question

    Hi,

I just haven't had chance to use the extended version yet.

We were a mixed group on Saturday with two divers on single cylinders and poor air consumption so I knew I would be fine with the stock unit for two dives.

I have only just got the unit in the water really. I have done three open water dives in total (as mCCR) and I'm concentrating on getting my O2 consumption down.

I'll get in the water with the extended scrubber over the next couple of weeks and let you know how it feels.

    Regards

    Matt

    Re: Ray Scrubber question

    Hi,

I was diving yesterday using my Draeger Ray and decided to give the extended scrubber a goÖ

It worked really well, I didn't notice any change in WOB and the extended tube made from POM felt sturdy. The only characteristic difference that I noticed was a slight increase in buoyancy. I didnít add any extra weight and managed but I felt slightly more buoyant than the same dive with the standard scrubber.

Overall I am very happy with it. Iím going to Malta in June and plan to take the extended scrubber with me.

Has anyone else tried diving with one yet to give a broader opinion?

    Regards

    Matt
