Advanced Diver Magazine looked into equipment failure one step further and conducted a series of tests at multiple depths in an attempt to calculate if increased depth can escalate a potential life threatening equipment failure.

Mate .... don't want to be rude as I'm sure a lot of effort went into putting this together but have you got a degree in the bleeding obvious ???

Just what did you expect to see happen ???

    Interesting yes, useful ... debatable.

    regards Baz

    PS ... go metric !

Thanks Curt. Pulled this from ADM issue and have our OW instructors at my shop explain how important it is to have a buddy close by.

Thanks for the article. Looking forward to more of these.

    Re: Life Ending Seconds

    Hi Curt

I support the idea of taking known information and making it "digestable" for the public masses. Yes, for many divers, this is comon knowledge but a reminder is always nice and for the divers who didn't know it is very valuable.

It is always easy to bash on threads like these with comments similar in one of the posts bellow. People forget how valuable our time is and one should appriciate when it is used for sharing knowledge in a community!

Forum contributors are the backbone in a internet forum/community. Some user choose just to freeload, not making any constributions what so ever

Thanks for the article Curt, much appricated

    /Christian

Interesting. Could have been more interesting still if some discussion on how kit configuration can help minimize the "life ending" effect of these failures.

    Cheers

    Matt.

This is a forum, start up the conversation.

Magazine editorials are designed to highlight or bring interest to a subject. Readers, if interested are encouraged to seek additional reference materials.

For a writer to cover all angles, it would than be called a manual, not an editorial.
