    Hi Guys,

Sorry for the delay in replying. Just been figuring out with the boat owner when he wants some money. !!

As with any high priced trip ($12500) per pax the commitment diminishes the closer to crunch time looms. At this stage I have till 1 March 09 to make a decision ( put us$100K down for the boat!!). Its not looking good!
Everything is sorted logistics wise, gear, O2, chamber, physician, so all we need is the people to get it all going! ( that small little detail!!!)

There is a film company that is really keen to come and this might sway things dramatically. They are thinking of chartering the whole boat then whoever comes along will have the time of their lives!!!

You will know as soon as I know.

    Re: BIKINI ATOLL - A REALITY... 19 Sept 2010

Deadline comes by this friday for the Bikini Atoll trip to go or not. To date it is looking more likely to get a smile out of Posh Spice than the trip eventuating.

Unless someone can come up with the tab!!!

One thing for sure is that whatever happens (or doesnt in this case!) is that there is a definite need for people to put together specialised trips for breather divers. I for one am still looking for opportunities to get a trip together for breather divers to Bikini. Hopefully I Can get a boat that wont cost me a fortune.

Will keep you posted when something happens. This means that our Truk breather specific trips to truk lagoon will follow on next year.

All the best and thanks for all the support and feedback for trying to get this trip together.

    Thanks Steve,

Yeah, I guess the more pressure people put on operators the more will happen. To date, most operators (not all - which is good to see) see breather divers as high maintenance divers, who spend longer in the water, need more gear and space. For the same money they can "tea bag" a diver on a single tank, be in the water for 30 minutes, do 2 dives in a morning and be back for the second group by 12pm!!

That is why our truk trips are so popular. If you want to spend 3 hours in the water - we plan for it and do it!

    ALl the best
