Thread: GAP and Heliox

    GAP and Heliox

Does anyone know whether the heliox profiles on GAP are correct? The profiles change substantially if you are diving 95% He vs 100% He (inert gas fraction).

You should include some additional information

    1) what version oF Gap are you using (include the build)
(the GF implementation has been changed a few times as well as the RGBM variables tweaked)
    2) what alg and what settings are you using..
    3) oc or CC
    4) profiles in question..

    Re: GAP and Heliox

The information on my GAP version is as follows:

Product 2.3 Build 1437 Product CCR-OC Nitrox Trimix HeliOx, Created on 2005.05.11

Here are the schedules. I'm asking about them because the HeliOx schedule produces 21 minutes of stop time, whereas a 95% helium 5% nitrogen inert gas mix produces 46 minutes of stop time.

Actually, the last run using Tx20/76, is closer to the heliox run. Is there a bug when the diluent is specified as 0% O2?

Yeah, that's another issue (maybe related). Everytime I search for updates it tells me I'm not connected to the internet. But I'm always connected to the internet. Another issue I've got to resolve.

You can just go to the gap-site and d/l it.. There are problems behind some NAT lans, and it still doesnt work behind a proxy..

There is a test version that has resolved some of the connectivity issues (not released to the public yet)

for completeness the current ANDI build is 1550, and Naui buil 1547,

The test builds are 1579 (not released yet)

Do I download and install the version that says "Trial version"? Or is there another place to get it?

    Yes...

all trial versions, become fully enabled to whatever level your serial number is for. There is no seperate non trial version..

Up to now all new builds can be installed over the previous build.. This may or may not change in the future..

    Re: GAP and Heliox

Thanks for your help. I'll see if the update fixes the issue described above.

    ...

The newly updated version seems to produce the same schedule wierdness. Tx8/87 produces a schedule with 37minutes of stops and Tx8/88 produces one with 13 minutes of stops.

    CC schedule:
    D S (Rt) Diluent (Loop)SetPoint
    0 -- (0) Air 0.21
    99 57 (60) Tx8/87 (Tx30/66)1.20
    40 4 (65) Tx8/87 (Tx54/43)1.20
    30 7 (73) Tx8/87 (Tx63/35)1.20
    20 10 (82) Tx8/87 (Tx74/24)1.20
    10 16 (98) Tx8/87 (Tx92/8)1.20

    CC schedule:
    D S (Rt) Diluent (Loop)SetPoint
    0 -- (0) Air 0.21
    99 57 (60) Tx8/88 (Tx30/67)1.20
    30 1 (63) Tx8/88 (Tx63/36)1.20
    20 5 (68) Tx8/88 (Tx74/24)1.20
