I'm going to add the following explainations to my pre-dive checklist:
    - Show how to switch to my BOV (including closing the O2 and DIL valves)
    - Allowed to switch if any doubt about my consciousness
    - How to empty the loop and when to do it (this I don't know yet)
    - How to flood the loop and when to do it (this I don't know yet)
    - Not to worry about the HUD lights
    - Check I plug the right gas in (this is for after Mod-2 or 3 I guess)

    Cheers
    Thomas
One question though. Closing O2 will help in controlling buoyancy but closing diluent is another matter. If your BOV is not on inboard diluent it COULD be done at the cost of not being able to inflate your BC if really needed (e.g. to lift you or more likely to keep you afloat on the surface). Why would you want him to close it?

Without an ADV, you are right, only the O2 ;)

Wouln't an ADV be more problematic?

Why? The ADV only supplies diluent when you suck the loop and the CL are empty (thus creating an underpressure). But let's move out of this thread. Mods could you split this stuff off starting a "Diving with an OC buddy" thread with Toman's post to start with?
