Pedro: If you did not use it at all, I would seal it in a plastic bag, or as I do in a dry bag and leave it for upto 3 weeks. If used for a short while, I might leave it for 2 weeks if the next planned dive was not too deep.
I have left my rebreather assembled for a week when I have been blown out relying on the tightness of the rebreather to keep the absorbant viable.
Not too different in my opinion than in the canister it comes in after the seal has been broken. Peter

As long as it does not get very cold and it is not absorbing any CO2 it should last for a goodly amount of time - tippping it form one sealed container (the drum) to another (your rebreather loop) should not make much difference.

In theory it shouldn't make much difference. In practice it tends to be a couple of weeks maximum.

I use one of John Routley's Scrubber Covers for my KISS. (Welcome Page)

I've used lime that was stored in my homebuild for a couple of months. I regularly store used lime in my KISS for a few weeks at a time. If I've got something long or deep coming up then I'll chuck it and start again, if not then I'll re-use.

There is a good report on the Canadian DND website on storing used lime in a rebreather.

    Cheers,

    Stuart
