You mean these?

Wing-Shaped Tail Fins - Swimmers Or Snorkelers - Snorkeling - Scuba Diving Equipment

They sent a couple to the shop to try out - not impressed

However, if I were diving in a location where I needed to exit the water via rocks (Like in Dave's scenario) or even the beach for that matter, I might give them I try, but I wouldn't expect much in the way of performance, it would simply be for the convenience.

Oh wait, they don't come in pink - In that case, that's not going to work for me! Lol!

I could see myself using them in certain conditions, but not as an everyday fin atleast until I try them and rally evaluate them. I will be trying a set just to see how well they work or not..
I have had more than a few dives in surf where I could see these would be very usefull..

Re: BTS goofy product award

Well some must buy these things since they have been at the last two DEMAs and BTS events that I have attended...

I will say however that I have yet to see them being used by anyone.

Maybe it's the company that I keep...

Those fins kinda look like bait. I would be scared to use those in blue water.

Re: BTS goofy product award

lol. the amphibian fin was the winner last year. i do think they could work out for walking under the ice,
if you add some spikes to the bottom. but for $200, i'll just wear my crampons.

i did not see the clear tank toilet bowl fishtank that i heard would be there.

but i did see the mk6 discovery... this was pretty funny shit.
the advertising flyer had me rolling...

Dive long, dive quietly, dive safely. Stay nearly down as long as you want.

Forget everything you might have heard about pO2, scrubber life and oxygen cells.
Relax and let the unit handle the controls. All you have to do is breathe.

Just Don & Dive

One sensor is enough. Now you can forget about multiple oxygen sensors and the confusing complexities of voting logic. A new way of continuous calibration of the sensor ensures that the readings are always accurate.

Scrubber duration: Will outlast oxygen supply

It is like a modern car, electronics handle brakes, stabilizing systems and all other gizmos to make driving safer.

Finally, our post diving procedures are as simple and safe as the rest. Simply rinse the entire unit in fresh water, remove the electronics and put the rest in your dishwasher. Just don’t forget to charge the battery for next weekend adventure!

Developed in Sweden. If it works here, in our environment, it works everywhere.

Yeah... you hang out with Radomski and me, and we're both gonna try them.
I can see how you would be concerned....

Re: BTS goofy product award

Someone in the Navy may be trying them but fins are a divers preference item so don't look for any endorsements from the Navy. For many divers they may not fit your dive profile but for a few they may. I wounder how durable they are. For me it may warrant a look before a critique. Many people thought the horseless carriage looked funny too. I think we all drive one though.
