![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Beneath the Sea - Any news? OMS... Did not display anything.... DR was there and so was the O2ptima-i guessed u missed it!Greywolf... Was not there.... Prism 2 - Claimed that the first batch of new units was in process. Delivery in the next couple of months. MK-6 - It was there... HH CCR - Lots of activity at the JM/Golem Gear booth... Hence I did not get time to visit lots of other places. The following were on display... Classic Kiss with HH Seconday/Deco - HammerMeg Lots of people were looking at the HammerMeg and inquiring about ava. - Dual HH CCR As far as the BMCLs for the HH CCR - Jakub had the latest prototype on display. (On the Dual HH CCR) A production version of it is in process so look for pictures of that shortly. We also had a 6 inch EAC Cartridge at the HH/Golem Gear booth that is the size that it the one that is in testing for the HH CCR. The Optima currently uses a 5 inch. Meg - Leon had both of the radials on display. Can anyone share any news that they may have heard from the meg booth. They would not talk to me... ![]() There was a Boris and a Sentinal on display. It was a production version of the Sentinal.... BOY IS IT BIG!!! In short there were lots of people very interested in talking about CCRs. More than I have ever seen before at BTS. One of the coolest things at the show was the new Salvo LED Lights. I could not resist ordering one of the one that's equiv to a 21W HID. It has a variable output that will give you between 6-30 hours depending on the brightness you select. They were right next to our booth so the tempation was way to high!! Dive Safe! Mark ![]()

| Jonny The Hatch ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Beneath the Sea - Any news? Jonny, Thanks for that info Mark! Here is a link to the Salvo site... Salvo Diving Equipment - Rebel LED Lights I recently bought a Salvo 21 watt HID. Their customer service etc is awesome. I do have this fear live everyone else that I will bang it against something and the bulb will go. That being said, my salvo 21 watt HID has been great. The technology is just getting to the point were LEDs will start being the technology to go with. Salvo has actually stopped selling their 10 watt HID because their new 12 watt LED is brighter and a better value. In the 21 watt area, the HID is a little brighter hence they are keeping it in the product line. I have decided that the 21W LED is the way to go due to the durability, brightness varability, head size and burn time options... When I spoke with Cory at the Salvo booth, he said that one of the things he did to test the light was to just let the light head bounce along on the limestone floor of one of the local caves while clipping along at a good pace on his scooter. None of us would obviously do this with an HID. As soon as we heard this my cave dive buddy "O.C. Diver" on this list, looked at one another and said.... "We will take two"... I am happy to trade off the slight loss of brightness that the 21 Watt HID has for the rest of the benifits. As soon as my new LED shows up I will be selling my HID. Hope that helps... Mark /Jonny

Thanks Mark.[/quote] The BOV did change from the prototype. The extreme regulator is on a swivel and the overall size of the BOV is much smaller. Sorry no pictures. I'm a huge fan of poseidons second stages and feel there's NO regulator on the market that can give you the volumes of gas at depth as a poseidon. Its seems to be ....maybe the best BOV out there. Unless there's some design problem??? Only time will tell Here's why 1) Super huge one way check valves (we know what that can do to breathing resistance) 2) poseidons second stage. (It's the bench market in cold water and deep diving regulators) Also another great item I saw at the show was the new low Pressure hoses by XS scuba (there made in Itlay) I'm sure they were at DEMA...But if not here's a link on how they look XS Scuba Miflex Double Braided Hoses |

| My unit can beat up yours Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Beneath the Sea I didn't get to see nearly as much as I would have liked with the little time that I got to walk around, either. I'm glad Mark said that about the Sentinal, because I did get to stop by the CCRB display and I thought the same - that thing is huge!! Boris didn't look nearly as big as it usually does sitting next to it. I didn't stay long enough to check out the details, unfortunately. The Hammerhead and Golem Gear booths were very impressive and busy. I met Jakub for the first time and he took the time to explain a few things to me - extremely knowledgeable and down-to-earth guy. It was great to see all of the HH, GG, M&J, etc. products in real life ... The Poseidon CLMK6 was supposedly there and apparently just down the aisle from me, but I didn't get down there in time to see it. I think when the power went out for a few minutes, someone made off with it. I heard the blackout was caused when ISC set off another one of the 'tiny' EMPs that allegedly fry the HH electronics ... ![]()

We had the following units on display: CK with HH Secondary w/ DIVA and Deco HammerMeg HammerHead CCR full size HammerHead Dual Rig HammerHead Hobo Rig - Short Canister HammerHead Inspration Classic Replacement Head. I assume that was the same for the Optima in the DiveRite booth? M |

I asked about this, in reference to the size, since it was even bigger than Boris. They told me it wasn't a production Sentinel, it was the same prototype they brought to other dive shows. (The gas blocks were not as shown in the photos that have come back from the Red Sea training.) They told me the production model was both smaller and more cleanly laid out with simpler assembly. It would be nice to start getting some closure on how big/heavy the thing is... Annoying to lack clear answers even after production models have been delivered. |
