![]() | Rumors from Boston Sea Rovers OMS(according to their reps) is finishing development of a new deco computer capable of supporting CCRs. DCAP comp based on Hamiltonian Kenyon algorithm. If you waiting for Grey Wolf CCR don't hold your breath OMS and Mr Weber are not working together any more. Tesseract BC anyone??? Not in the near future. Back to redesign table due to not adequate lift. New target lift to be around 50lbs. From ISC booth(Jerry GM): The ISC wing is ready and selling now - really nice set with neat features -one is heading my way. ![]() Radial scrubber should be available in the next 30 days. Soon to follow different sizes of radial (incl on for MiniMeg) scrubbers. Apecs 3 arriving around summer vacation (I politely didn't ask: what year? ) Any indication on price range? "Not right now, but we definitely gonna try stay low for Meg users" Because I heard conflicting stories, I ask about deco alg for Apecs3. " It is gonna be Hamilton,.......... I think." Beside ISC the RBs where represented by Silent Diving (Evolution) and Optima Dive Rite where I find out that there is no plans for supplying Optima divers with other then Micropore scrubber. At Halcyon stand there is not evan a sign of rebreather. Did I miss a proclamation of death of SCR by Witnesses of Halcyon? ![]() At film festival, interesting trip report from diving in the gypsum cave in frozen Siberia by Jill Heinerth. And for the desert, an interesting contraption, converted to mCCR Dreager mate with Superlite helmet. SV600003.JPG SV600005.JPG I know, nothing new, but lets call it...professional deviation. ![]() rgrds Tomek |

Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Rumors from Boston Sea Rovers While the show was pretty great (in terms of the seminars, speakers, etc...) it was very lackluster in terms of Rebreathers. DR has nothing new to say since last year. ISC shows one meg in one configuration. SD showed the Evo (not the Evo +), OceanOpportunity showed a CCR Drager conversion upstairs, a prototype. CCR Research, Delta-P was nowhere to be found. I wanted to see the Sentinel or anything new for that matter and was pretty disappointed. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Rumors from Boston Sea Rovers Thanks for posting the photos of our rig. Also thanks to all who spent a few minutes to chat about our project. To answer the helmet question...MOST helmets seal via a neck dam. This part is donned first, then the helmet, and the two lock together. When diving a helmet with a CCR, the neck dam seal is critical, as any leakge would obviously reduce your loop volume. Best way to address this is with a latex seal in the dam.For those interested in a slightly deeper look into this hybrid project, visit Exploration Technologies Group. Please note that it is not our intent to produce and distribute this unit, rather instead is has been developed as a platform for ongoing R&D and as a tool that I intend to apply to my work as an undersea contractor. During the course of R&D, we have created opportunities for student engineers to participate and contribute to something that is rather forward looking in our community. The fact that we used a Draeger chassis is somewhat irrelevant to the project. It provides a stable platform for mCCR conversions, and was available, so we used it. The logic behind the system is the gas distribution, which could be incorporated into any chassis. A close look at the unit will show that the gas distribution system has some semi-proprietary tricks and treats. These may be the target for tightening up and eventual sale as aftermarket components. From a utility perspective, recent forums hosted within the science community have generated discussion and interest in the concept of hybrid systems. My background is principally in dive safety oversight for AAUS programs. I hope to evolve a set of operational standards in conjunction with this R&D effort to contribute to the future goings on in scentific diving. ok, enough for a quick post! Updates on this project, and our others can be found on our website(s), and I encourage all of you to sign up for our e-newsletter (see my signature). Safe diving, and thanks again to those who stopped by!Mike

This is the dilema of the internet and tradeshows...By the time anyone shows anything, it's plastered all over here..., articles written, pictures taken, a few interviews... When regional tradeshows take place later, and you're looking for that innovation fix, the time has usually come and gone... |

Where can I find prices? Best Regards. Wael As I had mentioned, the system is not for sale. I anticipate it being some time before any of the subsystems are for sale. There is much work we want to do on the R&D end and we want to draft several white papers to back our logic. Shorter term, we are planning on coordinating several professional development workshops to introduce working divers to the concept of hybrid systems. Once this is on the calendar, we'll let Rebreather World know. cheers, Mike
