Virginia - Tech Diving Demo Day Jan 26th

The Virginia Beach Technical Diver's Group (VBTech) is having a free Technical Diving Demo Day on January 26th at Lynnhaven Dive Center in Virginia Beach, VA. It is open to everyone and includes one booth/station on RBs, along with a formal Rebreather intro presentation by VBTech member Mark Nix -- a Rebreather World moderator and new HH CCR owner -- and in-the-pool Optima demos given by Pete Nawrocky -- a VBTech member and our local DiveRite rep.

The purpose of this event is to introduce divers at all levels to technical diving. (It's also a good opportunity for technical divers to spend a "dry" day together.) Of course, it's nice to be able to see several different RBs up close and to get in the water with one, if you like, to see what they're like.

Lunch is being provided, so hope everyone can make it.

Hey, have some good news!

Pete Nawrocky, our VBTech member/DiveRite rep, is putting $600.00 (US) worth of DiveRite gifts up as door prizes. Free lunch, door prizes, and great tech topics. What more could anyone ask for?

We're really excited about next Saturday and the VB Tech Day. As the word has spread about rebreathers being there and that several will be available in the pool for demo, a number of people have called in to get on the list. Pete Nawrocky is going to have his hands full running the demos (and will probably look like a prune by the end of the day, from being in the pool so long).

Hopefully I can post some pictures after Tech Day.

BTW: The shop that is letting us use their space, Lynnhaven Dive Center, is also running a special "winter" dive for us on the Morgan (110 fsw) on the day after the event. What a weekend: one day talking tech and the next day diving.

If you're in the Virginia area, hope you can make it.

Thought you might like to see how the VBTech Day turned out. We had a crowd, and Mark Nix (manned the Rebreather table and gave an hour seminar on RBs) + Pete Nawrocky (in the pool with the Rebreather Demos) did a great job!
