So much so i bought one. Veecam | Home I was also mighty impressed with the new Shear-water Pursuit (baught earlier but colected from the lovley Blan at the show) Its sooooo smal Bruce M8 you should be shouting this from the roof tops sod the extra features its just so lovely and compact in design Paul had his personal Electronic rEvo with Shear water Controller and KISS type back up which I thought was sex on a stick Mr Gurrrrrrrrr had his new Sentinel unit on display which was mighty impressive and the right price. Watch out Vision and Meg this is a serious contender (even if it does have a dustbin for a scrubber) He also had a comparison chart for scrubber duration on 40m dives?? His new unit came top and guess what came second? Yep, the KISS even out performed the Boris The chap i was talking too about the Sentinel probably thought I was the opposition or something because some of the answers to the questions were, "Sorry Id rather not answer that" But we both shared deep and meaningful feelings about AP so I quite liked him ![]() Kim was showing off DeltaP's monitoring system on the KISS but she looked a bit perplexed when i fell on the floor laughing after she said she decided to go with DeltaP because of their reliability and excellent customer service ![]() Dave T was there showing off his new ultra neet CCR unit with guess what? Yes a Shear water Controller ![]() I bought an ultra light (2kg) drysuit from Hammond's for my Mexico gig and booked my KISS cross over course. The list of diver M8s i met there is loooooooonnnggg but it was great to see them all. Totally utterly gutted that i couldn't buy four tubs of Sofnalime from the Rebreatherworld Store (what a bargain) but i couldn't face getting that and the two 3ltr tanks the 150miles to N6 car park ![]() Have to say the best dive show i have been to for a long time. Yes I dont know specifics but they were playing vid on a wide screen 32" TV that was plenty good enough for me and had no bluring even on fast mooving action shots. Only bad thing I can say about the unit was that aparently the settings can no be altered below 10m. They took one to 150m before the screen colapsed so they rate it for 100m. It shoots four hours so I will be switching it to record and forgeting its even there till I get out of the water. You can watch the video on deco on the screen It down loads in 15min chunks so you can edit out big bits of nothing when you do the down load to save on download time / space The green water underwater vidio I saw was plenty good enough for me and on a par / better than with what i get from my Sony Digital There is a HD modle in the pipeline if HD is an issue. Mind you I waited over a year for this one and its not quite out yet. Deposit paid ![]() Quote: That's sweet music. I should have mine soon too... You are going to be soooooooo happy ![]() Quote: What is the right price ? Size/weight ? Details please... ![]() £5K ish (so on a par with Vision and Meg) There will be an entry level unit and a deep unit with off board connectors etc etc. 27Kg Size, Narrow but very thick. At an educated engineers guess, Id say the scrubber and electronics package was about 250mm across diameter. The new hand sets are very nice. About 3/4 the thickness of a conventional VR3 and with excellent displays The self loading scrubber was much smaller than the canister and i concluded some clever ideas had come up with flood recovery on the rear mounted counter lung (single lung apparently) There was an OPV mounted in the base of the scrubber housing which screamed water dump to me but its one of the unanswered questions. The BOV is very ugly and uses a Poseidon Extreme regulator I found this very odd as Poseidon's have a high interstage pressure but again he refused to elaborate on why they chose this rout. He said they chose Poseidon Extremes for quality and because they are very reliable which had me falling about laughing again. I remember the multiple regulator free flows and valve seat failures my friend AndyP had before he threw all his Extremes away I became suspicious that its because Extremes happily run at 10bar IP and broached the subject but was again given the, "Id rather not say answer "I have to say I was impressed. If I were considering an off the shelf package this ticks most of the boxes. That massive canister is ugly as is the BOV, its a little on the heavy side and it still uses silly little diluent and 02 cylinders but apart from that it an amazing bit of kit. ATB Mark

| CK+Shearwater ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: What's new at the Birmingham 2007 show ? Vee-cam was pure sex but £800+ for a waterproof Ipod video and a pin-hole camera- ouch, having said that- I would. MPEG4 output apparently and looked plenty good on the 40odd inch screen their video was showing on... Will be interesting to see the production spec Sentinal was CONSIDERABLE sorted compared to the dreadful state shown at the recent military show, very nicely put together. the scrubber takes the exhaled gas down through the bed first then the warm post scrub gas goes up the outside insulating it, one of the reasons for the performance apparently. The Rebreather Comparison chart was laminated and my camera was unhappy photographing it, needless to say the Sentinal came out Very well... some other units considerably less so, hmm.... I guess the most interesting thing I saw was the DiveTrack device BSAC are helping to promote after running a competiton to develope it along with Penny Glovers estate. It has now been tested an found to perform well, now its going to be shrunk and made mass produceable. I can see alot of clubs and Charter boats buying this system. Martin Parker had a pre-production prototype of the much anticipated AP BOV, due out Q2 '08 apparently, meets WOB requirements down to 75mtrs on air!!! Rebreather World stand was very neat, easily spotted by the Great Wall of Sofnolime, stopped their to rest my feet on the stools- why was this the only stand at the show with chairs? Great thinking Guys! Had a demo of the Cell-Checker, very neat and beautifully assembled. Pictures- http://www.rebreatherworld.com/photo...ry.php?cat=544 Forgot to add- Sentinal BOV is as smooth as a babies bum to turn, "one finger" doesn't do it justice, its SUPER SMOOTH, so smooth I wonder if its couldn't get knocked around. I also noticed that the dump on the bottom of the scrubber has a air hose connecting it to somewhere higher up (CL perhaps) so you can dump at any angle just the same once the OPV is set (does this aid water dumping?)
