As has been mentioned the Birmingham Dive Show 2007 was the best for years and it was also a great success for Rebreather World with our stand proving very popular with existing members dropping by to say hello and to have a chat not to mention picking up Rebreather Sorb and other equipment so thanks for the support guy's.

It was also great to meet so many new people that I hope we will see here on the forum in the future.

I do need to say a special thanks to Beanie, Lou and Stefan for the help with the stand set up when frankly we would have struggled without them.

Also a very big thanks to Kevin Pickering for putting together an excellent DVD of clips from his vast diving collection and for spending a great deal of time and effort editing it and adding the Rebreather World logo that so many people enjoyed at the show. You can get more information about Kevin and his partner Teresa Telus from their website here;

A great weekend and we do hope to be back next year bigger and even better................

Barry, I thought the Rebreather World stand had a great location and the addition of stools and tables was an excellent idea, So much so that our club used it as our meeting point for the day!

Did the ballon come down in the end?

It was still there when we left Sunday evening

Both those balloons filled with He and they still couldn't lift the Rebreather World sign more than 6ft off the ground... good fun trying though

Re: What's new at the Birmingham 2007 show ?

On the KISS stand I spoke to Rick Stanton, who was showing off his new home-build "saucepan" CCR. This is not like the one he made and took to the end of Wookey Hole or to 175m in a New Zealand cave. It's a semi-closed chest-mounted unit that is *incredibly* small and neat. It is literally made from a cut down aluminium saucepan and has the scrubber housed inside the counterlung. It's a pendulum rebreather with auto-diluent add and auto-exhaust. All it needs to work is a LP nitrox gas supply from a sideslung cylinder. Rick said he's built it for shallow sumps. There's no Po2 measurement/display. The funniest thing was that the saucepan still had an ISO quality sticker on it...hope that this applies to the whole rebreather ! :-)

I'll post a picture as soon as I figure out how to do this on Rebreather World.

SteveM.

OK...I figured out how to upload a picture. There's a shot of Rick Stanton, Kim Smith, Martin Robson (+ someone else...who ??) and the amazing saucepan rebreather on the DIVE 2007 photo gallery. It was taken in lowish light with a mobile phone...sorry for the poor quality...but you will get the idea OK.
Enjoy !

That's Advanced Diver Magazine publisher Curt Bowen from Florida, he helped Kim with the booth.

Cool rebreather. Goes well with a heart-and-Mom tatoo.

Is it possible to have the email of R.Stanton?

He will came to Italy at the beginning of November and i would like to see his machine or, at least some detailed picture of it.

Thank you.

** MODS Note ** he now has the email address, it's been PM'd to him, after originally being posted in the forum, and since removed.
