Re: What's new at the Birmingham 2007 show ?

I popped in....met loads of lovely people...kissed quite a few of them, was also swept off my feet by Stuart...literally..thank you all for the warm welcome, Folks you were wonderful and it was good to meet you all.

I believe there was dive tat there too, but I didnt take much notice of that. Seriously, the Dive Trak looks amazing, well done Jon and all concerned there...and one more thing....despite what he says, Dave Cooper actually smells of fabric softener.

Re: What's new at the Birmingham 2007 show ?

Beanie and I are just back home... off to bed shortly after a shattering show and the best in a long time from my perspective

I'll leave the show roundup to come from Stefan when he gets 5 minutes. But just to say thanks to everyone that came over to say hello. Rebreathers are definitely getting a greater presence at Birmingham; and its great to see!

So hello and lovely to meet finally and again, in no particular order....
  • Lynn and Bruce (lovely, lovely people)
  • Brent & Mr Routley(there are still donuts left and the house will be ready for a party in Feb)
  • Neil (and his valiant attempts with Beanie to get 2 rather large balloons to take off with the Rebreather World logo attached to them - to no avail)
  • Julie & Simon (Gadget) with Leon & Co on the Innerspace stand
  • Aaron Bruce (your donut is still waiting for you)
  • Michael Hearn (Ali-box heaven)
  • Rich Stevenson and Rebreather Phil
  • Kurt Bowen (Mr ADM - lovely chap)
  • Teresa Telus
  • Kevin and Niall at Solus (no nuts this year.. yeh I can touch the torches)
  • Martin & Mike & Mike & Co at AP (awaiting Tony's delivery)
  • Mark Ellyatt (and his dinky Pelagian)
  • Fabien Cousteau (avoiding the Hilton Bar on Saturday due to the match)
  • Oonas Diving (the guy with the blonde hair for helping me loose my voice)
  • Helen and John (always a pleasure)
  • Padowan and Kerry
  • Juz and Blanaid
  • Mark, Gary and Fin
  • ... and anyone Beanie and I may have missed.. it was a pleasure to see you all
Big thanks to Barrie, Andy, Kevin and of course Stuart for making the stand possible and a great weekend (looking forward to DEMA). Stefan, once again a pleasure to have you stop with us. Finally, it was a delight to finally meet the lovely Mr. Dave Cooper, who took the crushing defeat of France on Saturday with the true grace of a gentleman

Hope you all have/had a safe journey home

Thanks everyone for the quick update, it wets my appetite for the detail report from Stefan...

I hope you will add more detail descriptions and photos.

This too.

Quick question for those who played with it... In normal CC dive mode, is the reg facing forward or downward ?

Do you remember the order ?

I have heard from combined comments this is the order:
  1. Sentinel
  2. CK
  3. Boris
  4. ?
  5. ?
  6. ?
  7. rEvo (worst one)
If you are talking about scrubber duration, I was told the rEvo wast 4th.. and the worse was the o2ptima.

Re: What's new at the Birmingham 2007 show ?

We want to thank all our customers and new friends that came by the booth this weekend. We are overwhelmed by your goodwill and enthusiasm for our products. We met so many warm and wonderful people. Unfortunately, some of you came by our booth and we didn't have the opportunity to speak for whatever reason. We do look forward to meeting you next year, because like the england football team ... we will be back.

By the way ladies ... your football is way more attractive and inviting that our padded, helmeted, slow North American football!! And you have way better beer too.

Looking forward to meeting you all again.

Best Regards

Nice to meet you, H and all the others Stefan, Brent, Beanie, Lou, Barrie Law, Bruce & Lyn, Rasmus, Andy Mumford, Phil Hodson, Dave T, Jan & Jan, we had a good, busy, 2 days.

And it was great to see old friends, Paul Raymaekers, Leon, Dennis, Donal, Stuart, Neil, John, Paul Cross, Zepp, I can only apologise for not jumping stark bollock-naked into the BSAC try-dive pool as I had promised!

Congratulations to CCRB, the Sentinel looks outstanding, roll on January!

Cheers,

Dave Cooper.
dave was very good to see you again you hairy ###T i was trying to sponsor a COOPS NAKED AT 90 RUN but i don't think you have the bottle or is it the balls may be next year! i think it should become the end of show tradition

Jon from divetrak what a nice and very genuine guy doing things for the right reasons i very much hope we can help him to take his product forward and help every one in the memory of Penny

Lynn, Bruce what a great weekend thank you very much for the space on your stand and you hospitality and your very good company
what with you two, brent and neil barker you all have made the dive show great fun and have all been a great help.

we had massive interest in the DEEP PURSUIT and orders for the CELL CHECKER from the navy, cell manufacturer's, loads of dive shops and i lost count of how many people brought cells along to be checked

I didn't get a great deal of time to get out and talk to every one i wanted to but seeing the new APD BOV, looks very nice and neat as well as the new sentinel rebreather, this show had a realy good focus on rebreathers and to have so many in a small space you got to see all the breathers with out to much of a search, may be next year they can get all the players in the same area.
kindest regards john routley
