Thanks also to all the exhibitors & speakers for supporting the event & giving of their time and also, thanks to all you guys, the attendees, without whom it would have been empty! Re Jason's question on the awards: Industry Regognition: ================ Barry Andrewartha - has supported all 5 OZTeKs and been a pillar of the diving industry in Australia for YEARS! Dive Log has always been willing to run tech & Rebreather World articles. Terry Cummins - instrumental in supporting early exploratuion by Andrew Wight, one of the 1st SCR Divers in Oz and has always been supportive of the development of diving technology. Headed PADI Australia for YEARS and was always supportive of the OZTeK shows. OUTSTANDING ACHEIVEMENT: ====================== Mark Spencer - Mk15.5 diver, photographer and leader of expeditions to document Catthethun wreck, Jenolan Caves, Wellington Cave, AE2 Submarine, Kiellawarra wreck & Sydney Project dives. Work published many times & closely involved with Australian Geographic. Looks GREAT in speedos! DIVER OF THE YEAR: =============== Samir Alhafith - Sydney Project Founder & Project Leader, really has motivated the team to explore new sites. Videographer and main source of impetus in team to do the exploration dives. Inspo diver. Overall...great selection this year. Thanks for everyone.......it has been a great ride ............. Cheers

![]() | Re: Rebreather World at OzTek'2007 I was surprised how many were still going at 5 actually! I think in the end those going for a dive(!) were the ones to really get everyone going - Samir had good reason to celebrate and was still keen for the dive the next day! I spent the day recovering myself... Oztek was awesome - the only real problems is there is always presentations and people you want to meet/see, but don't have time for. |
