| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Recommended set of spare parts Ok, so now it's been at least a couple of weeks of diving with the first batch of units. Based on experiences of both this and other RBs, what items do you as a Sentinel owner and/or experienced CCR diver think should be part of the spare part tool box for a Sentinel? Thanks /Dragan

Basically following loads of diving on live aboard boats I always look at the small bits, that if fall off the deck stop you diving. Simple stuff like the scrubber retaining nut, a few quid, but if you loose it - no more diving. I then look at what I can trash - breathing hose, counterlung. Then the things that just break - hose, O2 cell and first stage. For the Sentinel my spares kit is very small when compared to my inspo. one. Hope this helps |

I haven't permanently lost the scrubber nut yet, but I've had a couple of anxious moments and it's almost certainly a matter of time. I just keep an xtreme 1st stage service kit rather than a whole reg, because they are very easy to work on, but upon reflection a whole 1st is probably a better bet.... who wants to suddenly find themselves rebuilding a reg in the field. As far as tools, I've found a pair of curved needlenose pliers to be handy. |
