![]() | Re: Sentinel Upgrades To be really honest, its strings like this that stop me from posting a lot on the forum. Some seem to take great pleasure is posting negative narrow views on subjects they know little about. This started as a simple update post to the forum. We should all welcome new systems and technology and support those brave enough to venture into this difficult market place. Only through improvements and companies raising the bar will we as users get improved and better systems. Lets keep the comments constructive. I've been diving an inspo. for over 10 years, 6 of which have been trimix. I've stepped out and gone for the Sentinel. Following a weeks diving I believe it was a very good decision, I think this unit far exceeds anything else I've dived. Most of the changes being made by Kevin are based on our comments as the first users, (to refine it) not because it does not work. this unit has probably undergone more beta testing by the likes of Phil than any other unit currently on the market. As first time users, Kevin has given many free upgrades for thanks for our feedback and willingness to be the first customers. On my return from the trip I wrote a detailed report on the unit and my thoughts - I had every intention of posting it until I read a few of the postings and to be honest I am not prepared to get uneducated flack for my efforts! ![]() I hope you do post as i got info off a few people on the boat, so a detailed report will be of even more help to me, i know i missed a few comments about others would like changed . I agree that Kevin did throw in a "few" extras and he was taking notes all week as to what we all wanted, this is now in evidence with the mods. |

Would be nice to see what you have to say having dived them both. John |

Add one more to the list of people eager to see the report. Please ignore discouraging posts and take in the cheers from people really interested in finding out about practical pros&cons.Especially now that CCRB seem to have more important things to do than answering email from potential customers , feedback from actual users are all that we can look forward to.../Dragan

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Sentinel Upgrades <snipp> I've been trying to get more info with regards to offboard gas for a while now. Does Sentinel handle offboard gas in the same way as Boris (except for the BOV)? The way I understood from a very quick Boris info, the Boris loop can be fed completely from offboard gas keeping the onboard supplies untouched until it is really needed.PM me if you have any questions or ask away in this thread. Cheers, Dave Cooper. Is BOV connected to "main circuit", i.e. can be fed from either on- or offboard gas? Thx /Dragan

![]() | Hi guys, and i believe and trust 100% in Kevin equipment. I second this, i spend a good part of yesterday with Al , Nick and Jason tracking down a problem (TPM and Secondary handset). They found it and fixed it and from what i believe other units will be getting an upgrade because of my problems. I have seen the way they work and how hard they work to get it right. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Sentinel Upgrades Is BOV connected to "main circuit", i.e. can be fed from either on- or offboard gas? Hello Dragan,The offboard will feed all system i.e. Manual Feed, ADV & BOV for DIL and Manual Feed & Solenoid for the O2 side. The only issue with BOV is the fact that the Sentinel & Boris use QC4 Swagelok for offboard connection, which acts as a flow restrictor. The BOV is only to be used as a sanity breathe in other words 1-2 breathe before you switch to external bailout. You will have to experience the flow restriction at different depth, it obviously depends on the mix you are using. On my Boris I am using Swagelok QC6 for the offboard, it has a bigger flow! Cheers
