Like it or not, due to the fact that the industry and market size is so small, we are all beta testers! I think the point is that CCRB is at least responding quickly to known faults and doing their best to make adjustments quickly.I would be pissed if I paid 12 grand to be a beta tester. Cam

Isn't that called marketing, not many people will go for such unit if it already kicks off with lowsey support. The real test would be when a conciderable amount of these units are sold. Lets see than and talk about customer service. I see this at the moment as part of a program to get the unit estabished in the market.Nevertheless, 2-3 days is very quick turnaround even if it's part of the marketing campaign. Cheers, Paul |

I think if a company takes very seriously the idea that their product isn't perfect, is open about it, and puts a genuine focus on improving it, in today's world that is something to brag about.I would be pissed if I paid 12 grand to be a beta tester. ![]() | Re: Sentinel Upgrades As it was obvious that a new unit would have some problems it is now of no use to argue about that, isn't it ? Personally, I thing we should wait a couple of months and then see what will happen: will the unit be stabilized, will the users experience other issues ? It will be possible to answer when CCRB will have sold a significant amount of Sentinels. Wait and see (don't worry, be happy), but anyway, it's a very nice rebreather... Cheers Humuhumu

![]() | Re: Sentinel Upgrades I think we all knew when we went on this trip that we all would find little things. As we arent all the same and being divers we break things, a few things that have been listed for mods have been ok on my unit but because it happened on another units its being changed. I just wish the company who sold me my new car cared so much. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Sentinel Upgrades To be really honest, its strings like this that stop me from posting a lot on the forum. Some seem to take great pleasure is posting negative narrow views on subjects they know little about. This started as a simple update post to the forum. We should all welcome new systems and technology and support those brave enough to venture into this difficult market place. Only through improvements and companies raising the bar will we as users get improved and better systems. Lets keep the comments constructive. I've been diving an inspo. for over 10 years, 6 of which have been trimix. I've stepped out and gone for the Sentinel. Following a weeks diving I believe it was a very good decision, I think this unit far exceeds anything else I've dived. Most of the changes being made by Kevin are based on our comments as the first users, (to refine it) not because it does not work. this unit has probably undergone more beta testing by the likes of Phil than any other unit currently on the market. As first time users, Kevin has given many free upgrades for thanks for our feedback and willingness to be the first customers. On my return from the trip I wrote a detailed report on the unit and my thoughts - I had every intention of posting it until I read a few of the postings and to be honest I am not prepared to get uneducated flack for my efforts! ![]() |

I think Kevin G.has done an awesome job and is tops when it comes to customer service. If there was a better model for US support, I would probably be considering a Sentinel in addition to my HH CCR. (Kevin G. has done a great job supporting US Boris owners. I just want a mfg. that is a bit closer to me.) M |

Please keep it coming. I'm surprised we've heard from so few that were on the course. There were... 20 new units on the boat? Sure, there will be some issues in the early stages of intruducing a rig so complex, that's only normal. Putting two hose weights on the instructors units seems like they've identified an issue and implemented a countermeasure. I'm surprised they haven't done that to the production ones as well. To be honest after i found the correct adjustment i found the hoses to be ok with one weight, but i dont have anything to compare to.Putting two hose weights on the instructors units seems like they've identified an issue and implemented a countermeasure.
