Sentinel off-board gas functionality

I'm looking for more info regarding off-board gas usage with Sentinel.

As much info as possible is appreciated with regard to gasblocks, connector types, BOV/CCR functionality, diluent vs. O2, number of connectors of each type, gasblock positioning, isolation possibilities etc.

Schematics as well as written description of available functionality would also be very appreciated.

Best regards

You know that there isn't any unit around yet? It is better to ask the same question directly to the factorly. They are really friendly.

In general gas blocks are front mounted, each side, like the Ouroboros. Swagelok connections. BOV is BOV, not really different from the others and connected to the inboard gas, I don't think it is spacescience to connect it to an off board diluent if required. You just have a connection for a diluent and one for O2. Isolation is on the blocks.
Note: all the above (beside the BOV) is optional on the level 1.
Cheers.

Sure, aware of the virtually non-existing unit. Already sent the question to CCRB, but being used to quick replies and not getting any answers yet I decided to check if anyone had asked these questions while fingering the unit and having access to factory staff during e.g. BOOT.

Heck, it feels like several weeks since I asked CCRB, even though it's only been a couple of days...

Since the only way to get a unit without having to wait 'til christmas seem to be to order one without even seing it, I feel it's kind of important to know how much modifications you'll have to do to get it the way you want it. Being used to diving with RB80, I for one would really want to be able to run the unit merely on off-board gas (loop, BOV, wing, insert-arbitrary-consumption-except-suit) and keep on-board for last resort bailout in case I have to give away my off-board gas during e.g. a restriction. I'm not interested in getting a unit that I think fit my future need only to realize it doesn't...

Thanks anyway for the notes on connectors etc.

About as close as you'll get to one prior to March, the block is nearly the same as the boris one the only extra is the ADV / O2 feed / shut off

I watched that video... so does that mean the production model won't have the ridiculous huge BOV?

We'll Know for sure in the next 4 weeks as those that are getting them get them.

The instructor course is in March followed by a user course also in March, so the longest wait should be 3 weeks

Ridiculous? Do you have better ideas on how to build a BOV or maybe you're aware of some information that the comunity don't know? So please you can share with us.
Or maybe you just vented out the first thing you had in mind?

Re: Sentinel off-board gas functionality

Hi,

the only important thing for the BOV is that it should be neutral under water (I don't intend to train specially to be able to hold it in my mouth). Everything else is uninteresting for me, excepted: it should be reliable and easy to switch to (just in case).

But if you listen to the video with Kewin (on the web), you will hear that the speaker is asking this question and the answer is: it will be smaller in the final version...

The more I read about the product, the more I think it's a baby Boris (they have taken a lot of stuff from the Boris and it's logical to do it this way because it reduces R&D and commodity costs). So as I don't need and want an extrem deep diving machine, the Sentinel will be perfect for me and I intend to order one and stop transforming my (deep) Dolphin.

Cheers

Bertrand

And so will be.

Correct, actually on the final version there will be some little changes.

My use of the word "ridiculous" was purely an aesthetic judgment. It's ugly. Really ugly.

On that subject, I respectfully submit that my opinion is as valuable as that of any other member. (On the technical aspects of the BOV, I gladly defer to those more experienced than I.)
