![]() | More info on the Sentinel?? So I got my CC ready to order one of the last 6 sentinels left in the first batch, but information seems a bit slow from CCRB so I thought maybe some of you might have more information than me... I don't think I can resist the urge to upgrade 1) Is all the training for the first batch going to be done in the Red Sea at the same time? Meaning students and instructors? I know this is in March but does anyone have a more exact date? 2) Will the units be picked up in the Red Sea or shipped to your current residence, presumably negating the 17.5% VAT that those in europe have to pay? (i.e. reducing the 5400 GBP price...) 3) Presumably there will be some pin to access the trimix codes like found on the Boris. Is this purely linked to # of hours on the unit or linked to going through the trimix course with a CCRB designated instructor? Thanks in advance!

I don't think I can resist the urge to upgrade Hi, 1) Is all the training for the first batch going to be done in the Red Sea at the same time? Meaning students and instructors? I know this is in March but does anyone have a more exact date? 2) Will the units be picked up in the Red Sea or shipped to your current residence, presumably negating the 17.5% VAT that those in europe have to pay? Is this purely linked to # of hours on the unit or linked to going through the trimix course with a CCRB designated instructor? Thanks in advance! The first batch is going to be distributed since april. Late march there will be the Instructor (and maybe also students) course in the RedSea but I don't think for all the first 50 unit...quite much. The #2 is a good point. Anyway it is enough to pick up the unit at the factory, stop at the custom, send the exportation form back to the factory so they can give you the money back and you'll pay the VAT (or whatever else) in your country. Normally it also work with a shipping company. Nad

This article about the new Sentinel rebreather is a "must read" for all ccr divers. The article does not only explain why certain features are on the new unit. However more important also explains the conceptual backgrounds. It is a very large 2 mb file so please allow some time to upload the webpage. The Sentinal is a extremely interesting rebreather with a lot of new design features. http://www.therebreathersite.nl/05_Reviews/Sentinel.htm enjoy the reading; Jan Willem Bech |
