Photos of Sentinel Rebreather

Apologies for the quality....

These photos show the Display and the BOV - The Bov will be getting smaller and the orientation of the X Stream is likely to change so that when you look at it you will be looking at the purge button - currently the purge buttons faces down when you look at it head on.

The top photo shows the secondary display which only shows the PPO2 however I believe Kevin said that it will have the capability to automatically take over from the primary disply including deco etc if it detects an error with the primary - how it does it I dont know!

More Photos..

In these you can see the quick releases - you first have to press the buton then turn and click to remove hose.

Also shows where you recharge the lithium batteries - currently this is a fischer but this will change.

Third picture shows digital sender for electronic integrated pressure guages.

Fourth Picture shows rear facing HUD (which will change slightly)

Re: Photos of Sentinel Rebreather

Hmm

Looks like a design disaster to me, but hey! it's the inside that counts ;-)
The Handsets on the other hand looks really nice.

I think you are being too nice...

To be perfectly honest, I have always liked the Boris electronic capability and philosophy but was never impressed with its form-factor. And I was hoping the Baby-Boris would change my mind....

Re: Photos of Sentinel Rebreather

I'm sure it will be a quality piece of kit by the time it goes on general sale, but currently it looks like a dog!

Interesting that it's got it's OPV in the base of the scrubber. I'm pretty sure most KISS divers have thought about this at some point or other but decided that it's not worth it.

Re: Photos of Sentinel Rebreather

It is still a prototype but even so my photos probably dont do it justice - It honestly doesnt look bad close up - the depth of the unit is the key thing and hopefully that should improve.

Erm, I want to see how you rest it on a bench or kit up in it. It looks to me like it'll rest on the first stages of the Xtremes and be at around 45 degrees. Interesting.

Personally, I'm confident that Kev knows what he's doing however and am sure it'll be good in the water. Does it have shut offs like the Boris? I'm presuming not from the photos and layout which is a shame.

Cheers

Rich
