Spare parts list

Does anyone have a suggestion of spare parts that you should always keep on hand for the Dräger? I'd like to assemble a 'Save-A-Dive' kit for my Dolphin. Thanks.

Re: Spare parts list

The only thing I usually take is an O ring that I have on the O2 gauge blanking plug. I have O rings and mouthpieces that I carry as spares in my OW toolbox, and I take an OW set as a backup in case it all goes wonky on the Rebreather front.

Some people take pretty much a spare Rebreather with them when they dive, and on an expedition that may be warranted, but for most diving in 'civilisation' spares would hopefully be not too far away.

Thanks Freef. For now, I'll probably be diving in civilization, but should I decide to take a trip somewhere, it would be nice to have a few spares on hand. I don't know about a whole extra dolphin, but, hey, if you are going somewhere really remote, I guess that is an option. The one thing I'm seriously considering is a spare set of lungs, because the unit I have is used, and has been patched a few times. I know I can patch in the field, but I'd be down for 24 hours while the patch dries. When you go somewhere for a weekend to dive, that just about kills your trip.

Re: Spare parts list

I'd definately get new lungs if mine were patched and keep the old ones as the spares.

I managed to damage the scrubber seal a couple of months ago and while it still seals I am awaiting a replacement which will be the main item I use.

Re: Spare parts list

It is not easy getting parts here and if I drop a part like a hose nut or the scrubber on a boat deck I thought it would be a good idea to have some spares. Attached is my list of spares I carry. I have a better chance of keeping the Dolf working on a week long trip somewhere remote with these parts.

For instance, I had a burst disk go on a Drager valve, it took my local shop a month to get the part.

Re: Spare parts list

Hi Steve,

Are the scrubber O rings the same as the other P connector O rings?

In the UK we don't usually have bursting disks so that is one less thing to worry about.

Re: Spare parts list

There are supposed to be 2 kits that are available for save-a-dive purposes from Drager.

This ONE is supposed to be for 1 unit (unit # T51811) and can be found at W+S (scroll to bottom of page, on the right - I had Google translate from German);

Whereas the other one (unit # T51756) is supposed to be for multiple unit owners who are also authorized Drager repair techs. I cannot seem where to find it, though.

I have been looking into this a lot lately. Raised a Boy Scout who can never be too prepared!!!

If you find something else/better, let me know.

David,

Yes, I should have called them P connector O rings.

Re: Spare parts list

Love translating software, I have a Dolphin Cycle Dipping Product.

Works better in the original Latin I suppose.
