| Re: Dolphin Adjustable Pressure Valve problem?? Hi peeps I think the valve is ok! I'd been surprised if there was a problem as the previous owner really looked after it. I managed to get some deeper OW dives on the unit recently, wore it loose, and got my buddy to see how often air vented and apparently it wasnt that often, but then he's not an Rebreather diver. I may have been worrying about nothing ![]() Although when kitting up I kept looking for my 2nd stage over my shoulder out of habit from OC diving! Anyway I loved using the unit really nice to dive with, it was also very noticeable how much warmer I was. It was 9-10 degrees and I was snug as a bug! cheers for all the advice sharon |

You should dive here, the water's about 30C, and on an average day, you can see at least 25m or more. Glad your unit seems to be working OK. Darlene |

| Re: Dolphin Adjustable Pressure Valve problem?? First i shared the issue of "DID I JUST GET SCREWED OUT OF $3000. on a DOLPHIN??? the first few times you dive it you wonder why you wasted all the time and effort!!?!?!!?My first 2 dives with it i sucked the bottle empty in like 20 min. you got to breath nice and relaxed, unlike OC you want to blow a little hard to clear the second stage. as for the APEKS dry suit valve swap...it's so easy a cave man can do it. first unscrew the original APV till it comes off the mount to the bag, snip the coily lanyard and discard / set aside. screw in the new valve and go dive. the new relief valve is the first start to getting your Rebreather more gas efficent laytah steve |

I'll have another look at the valve once I'm diving again. The breathing is the thing. Nodoubt I'll get used to it in time. A couple of weekends after I'd used my umit I was diving on OC and noticed my air consumption had gone up. Another Drager diver I met recently said the same thing happens to him. Is it common with all rebreather divers? cheers sharon |

Darlene The only way to get 25m in the UK is to dive in winter when the water is 10 deg or colder!I'll do you a swap, I'll come and have a dive with you in 30 deg, if you come and dive with the UK board members at an inland site next Feb in 4-6 deg. We'll even let you set your computer in farenheit so it looks warmer...

There are a lot of wonderfull sights hidden below cold waters. Now I'm much older, and not so tough, as I once was. I gave up a lot to come live here where it's summer every day, and you can go to the beach in a swimsuit all year long. Been here 5 years now and it still seems like a good trade. Therer are, however, still some dives I want to do that are rated: "drysuit definately recommended". I want a computer in Kelvin, then I'd always be warm anywhere. Darlene |

Is it common with all rebreather divers? Hi Sharon, cheers sharon On the breathing thing - just one point - Don't skip breathe. It's tempting as on OC you can extend your gas by doing this. On a CMF SCR you should never do this as it causes back pressure to build up and then venting on exhale, just keep breathing evenly and deeply and keep cycling the gas Sorry if I'm telling you to suck eggs |
