![]() | ADV on top of Dolphin Hi there I´ve seen some rebuildt units with tha ADV placed on top of the unit... like this. ![]() Where and how do you put the exhaust/OP valve? or do you simply use the nose? Something more to think about when putting ADV like this? Regards /Daniel

Hi Guys,If MCCR with constant flow, worry about forgetting to turn off the O2 on the surface. With the mouthpiece shut, something will have to give.... David yes mostly these are home built mCCR, but also some SCR divers also use it in this way. Easy explained, the ADV is put into the Exhaust bag, on the position of the OP valve, take the OP valve out and put the p-port in you removed from inhale bag. And you will need an adapter to bring he ADV out of the shell. The OP valve now is placed into the shell, into the inhale bag where you removed the p-port, the one which is normally free on original Dolphin, the back one. The front inhale p-port is then just pluged/closed. This way has..as usual some advantages and some dis...as normal. You need an adapter to do it. You need longer hoses. The WOB of activating the DSV in normal position is a bit higher as you have to "breath over inhale, scrubber and exhale bag" to activate it, so much longer way .. In reversed diving. (on the back)..very very easy to activate the bypass. In reality not so much more work in normal position Fine is you have more room in the Dolphin shell, and easier access to all fittings and hoses for connectiong and disconnecting You also can inject O2 here as it is the exhale side (mCCR). Easier to modify..if you like to modify.. I dive it for a long time in this way in mCCR mode and I am more than happy with that way and would not switch back. Greetings Martin

Regards /Daniel I've redone my Dolphin with Hydrogom and Tecme products. I left the ADV in it's original place and moved the O2-injection to the OPV-place. Just use the nose as an OPV. IMHO moving the ADV (with O2-injection) to the OPV place is NOT a good idea. Then the O2 will be injected straight into the inhalation side with changes for O2-spikes. Again, this is my opinion and works very fine for me and others. Injection into the exhalation lungs means better mixing with the loopgasses and much less change for an O2-spike. Regards, Roel |

Sorry, my fault, was not paying enough attention to what I was writing:Moving the injection to the place of the old OPV is imho the best place. So for me: left the ADV in the inhalation bag (only for the diluent) and the O2-injection to the OPV place. Sorry for the confusion. ![]() |
