| Born Again Diver! ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Larger Tanks for Dolphin From guys that have put a larger tank on the dolphin, what has been found to be a good compromise to give 2 good dives. I know in the UK 10l with a H Valve is commonly used. Out here in Asia, there are a variety of ally cylinders, and I was thinking something dumpy of around 60 / 70 cuft. Basically, I am hoping I can get a good compromise that will let my wife dive the dolphin alongside my SK on some 20 -35m dives, without having to go through too many fills etc. So who has used what? Cheers Dave

The dimensions of the tank-a 7L is way too long. The length of the hoses-too short and the tank will be pushed a long way to the right. Is the tank to be used for inflation and bailout-if so an H or Y valve is needed. I posted a pic of my H valve as it is a bit unusual in set up, but I can't remember where. If you need to re posting here let me know.

![]() | Re: Larger Tanks for Dolphin I have bought 2 brandnew 5 liter/232 bar tanks, and a din connnection from Tecme, that means i now have normal DIN on the Dräger firststage. The above solution is about the same price as a single new Dräger 5 liter tank. Best regards Bo |

![]() ![]() | Re: Larger Tanks for Dolphin I used a 50 cu ft (not sure how many liters that is) but running it on the 60% nozzle I easily had 3 dives from it. I was careful not to pick it up using the cloth handle of course, but diving wise it worked fine. I mounted in the normal 4ltr tank position. I also used a alum 45 cu ft. I tried several different sizes but those two were the best compromise. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Larger Tanks for Dolphin Before I converted mine I ran a 10L on mine. Weight was ok & I personaly would recomend it. I found runing a 36% through the 60% jet I was geting over 6 hours of diving from one fill & breathing arround 26%. Hopes this helps Rgds Dave

![]() | Re: Larger Tanks for Dolphin Hi Dave If you move the bailout bag to the left hand side of your unit, .. just undo string and re attach other side. This will hold a 2 ltr pony and can be used for bcd and dręgers spare air 2nd stage... guess you dont need suit inflation ( lucky devil ) A 7ltr ali will fit nicely now but will look a little off balance. Once she gets into the water the Dolphin will sit perfect. The air you save for bcd and the 7ltr , will give you two long dives. Another little tip get some small fizzy pop bottles and fill them with lead shot, they fit snugley into the Dręgers weight pockets. easy to carry and easy to dump. They weigh 4 kilos each when full . You in your picture?7's are quite long and may upset your trim. In the UK you need a rubber pad on the bottom of each one as they are likely to hit the wreck before you see it. ![]()
