He probably still has it as a back up to the Prism Calling ---John where are you--- in the mean time search the home built section, conversions aplenty. Dave Sutton's site is very good & one I sought in the early days for understanding conversions. There are some real gems of info in there & also here on Rebreather World. I converted my old spare dolphin collecting dust in the spare room to CCR just recently using one of dave's (McMaster orifice) methods a few months ago. works good so far ![]()

I am contemplating the idea but it would be helpful if I could see how others have done it I don't know if it still counts as a Ray but I took the guts of one and rebuilt it into a CCR.Click here for a description: rb_views And some pics: ![]() ![]() The scrubber is a bit limited so I don't know if it is a real world option as a main rebreather. I later rebuilt the rebreather above into a front mounted bailout manual SCR and O2 rebreather: ![]() Cheers, Stuart

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: CCR Ray there is just enough place in the top of the ray scrubber for putting two sensors, thats what I did with a lumberg connector, and airtess display. O2 line enter by the Pport at the bottom of the cartridge ( using either the tecme one or building it with a blind plug and 1/8-1/4 adaptor ). ADV is a modified reg ( dont wanted to destroy the Ray of my diving club )but you can easily use the Ray one with some glue or epoxy to stop the constant flow.Diluent tank in normal place, small o2 bottle sidemounted or on the belt with hydrogom but you can invert easily. The only Problem is thats always a Ray. |

![]() | Re: CCR Ray Hi Mark, what's the problem with the ray? Bad WOB, the small scrubber or what? I will also try it. I thought about taking the dolphin adv with a o2 orifice and a blocked ds4. For the first try I'll take a Oxygauge and a OXY2 for monitoring. Cheers! Christian |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: CCR Ray Hi Mark, Problem with the Ray is thats a very clever Rebreather but everything is designed and integrated for diving in shallow water.what's the problem with the ray? Bad WOB, the small scrubber or what? I will also try it. I thought about taking the dolphin adv with a o2 orifice and a blocked ds4. For the first try I'll take a Oxygauge and a OXY2 for monitoring. Cheers! Christian If you change something thet increase his possibility you are immediatly limited by an other thing which is difficult to change or to do. Limits are small scrubber and wing ( not easy to carry big tanks or bailout so unconfortable for technical diving even with drysuit lights etc ). You can easily change the scrubber for a dolphin one that you put in place of the ray tank, then the place for the tank become the problem and so the wing and harness become also a prob etc... If you want to do a light, well integrated small CCR for the shadows follow what Ive done, its fun and easy. But for deeper dive it quickly become a monster, unconfortable and youll waste time and money. But thats just me Cheers Marc |

![]() | Re: CCR Ray Hi Marc, yes your are right. Forgot the wing .For deep dive I would also buy something different. But as you sad, it can be a light, well integrated small CCR .Cheers! Christian |
