![]() | I am working at adapting a Dolphin to fit my wife's frame, she is quite small, weighs less then 100 pounds. The stock Dolphin harness is just too big for her, no matter what I try. I found a SS adaptor plate on Ebay that allows you to attach a backplate and wing to the shell. This will work great as she will be able to use her Halcyon wing and plate which fits her perfect. The only concern that I have is it appears to restrict the area of the inhalation bag as compared to the stock harness and BCD. The adaptor plate fits flush with the shell. Has anyone used this type of adaptor and what is everyone thoughts about the space restriction? The adaptor is well built so I would image it is a commercial product, but I want to be sure on it's functionality. I really want to get something that will work for her, she loves to fish watch and the rebreather is just the ticket for her. Thanks for the information!

I have a rough backplate adapter, I bought somewhere, but I also have one of Ron's (TMIshop) on the way. Looking at it, it sits a little away from the shell, so I think it will be OK. One thing I did with the other one was to put the doseage / bypass in the P-port on the other side of the lung that was meant to be used by the oxygauge Dave

The plate in TMIshop pictures looks exactly like the one I bought on Ebay. The only difference I see is the Nylon block and the longer 3/8" bolts to space it out on the bottom. Maybe the person that sold it to me did not send all the parts. I think I can fabricate that myself and get a inch or two more spacing. That would make me feel better about bag restrictions. I plan to work on it this week and get it into the pool. My wife qualified on the Dolphin last winter, but the BCD size problem has made it hard for her to use it. I will get one modified and take her to the Caribbean to test it out this winter. Thanks Cory ![]()

If the lungs are a litre or two compressed it may not be a problem, and also cut down on the weight she needs to dive. I lost about 1/3 to 1/2 of my inhale lung capacity last week, and could still breathe, although I was losing about 1L every 5 breaths to the OPV and ADV triggering every breathing cycle. I'm 5'10" and 13 stone.
