Shipping Drager bottle to Fiji

Anyone know about requirements for shipping Drager bottle and pony on passenger plane?? Called air pacific and they told me can't ship compressed air scuba tanks on passenger planes that tank must have valve off and that's not recommended because bottle would then need to be serviced before it could be filled.

Boy, its one obstacle after another.

Any ideas out there??

Thanks,

Nagual

Rent locally ?
On a serious note if that's a problem then you might want to opt for using a Draeger-Din adapter and just 'some tank' that you can get hold off.

Pop the valve off and put it back on before you take it to the dive centre. If you put it together early in the morning in a cold room then leave it in the sun you can drain the last of the 'nitrox fill' before getting your new fill.

Unless you get the tanks wet they will be OK for the trip there and back, then get them serviced when you return home.
