Re: Dolphin tank clamps

given it the shock treatment ( just kidding ) as it has broken and forced me to dice OC tomorrow while awaiting parts from germany.Mounting works very well. One mod coming going to slot 2 of the bolts ( the ones with wing nuts for the upper bracket so it can be spun out of the way during assembly.....

You deserve a special sort of PUNishment for that.

I once told someone that my Vytec was rechargable from the mains, and that is why it had AC showing on the display between dives.

ditto on the quick draw bracket:
New Products

I used nylon fender washers (larger outside diameter than standard washers) to spread the load where the bolts go through to screw into the bracket. I also used a flattish round headed phillips screw so that there would be no sharp edges to threaten the counter lungs.

Hi Steve

the bracket is good . How can i get one and just asking the tank you are using is how many cubic . I hear that 10 cubic tank is good for dolphin.

Re: Dolphin tank clamps

I use quick release clamps from go dive to hold two 3li cylinders on to the box.

Re: Dolphin tank clamps

My mCCR Dolphin uses the TMISHOP (Board Sponsor on Rebreather World) backplate and it works flawlessly. It is easy to assemble and disassemble with no issues.

It does compresee the counter lungs a bit, but with mCCR who cares, dive MCVL anyway.

There is a link to an online catalog on the Quickdraw site. I notice that for the rebreather bracket stock is "0" however. There is an email link on the site as well through the feedback link.

The ones on the link are AL 19s I believe. Depending on the cylinder I have strapped to the bottom of the Dolphin I either dive a 19 cf (with the 4 liter cylinder) or a couple of 13 cf tanks on either side if the bottom tank is longer that the 4 liter cylinder.

Re: Dolphin tank clamps

I was in the process of ordering some quickdraw brackets when I stumbled across a set of tiger mounts for sale on Rebreather World. Now that I have them, I can see how nice they really are. The fit and finish is top notch. I think that they may be a bit more stable than the quickdraw brackets because the spread on the clamps is wider. Two clamps about 4" apart vs. one 1" clamp. I do like the quickdraw's fitted clamp design, though. If the tiger mounts had a fitted clamp, rather than just those hardware store stainless band clamps, they'd be absolutely perfect. I think either will work well, it's just a matter of personal taste. FD
