The corrugations in the hoses will trap the 'fluid' [a nicer word than 'snot'] and unless you hang them up [ex side anyway] and let them drain you won't really see how much there is. You will also get condensation if the air temperature is higher than the water temperature, and the colder the water the more you will get as there is a bigger difference between the body temperature and the loop temperature. If the fluid is watery rather than snotty then you may have a small leak. Make sure your mouthpiece is fully poened or closed as appropriate. I had a small leak on one dive as my Dolphin moutpiece was not quite fully open. I don't drain my hoses between dives, only at the end of the day. And you should see how much snot comes out of my ex CL!

![]() | Re: How Much Fluid Do You Get In Your Hoses?? I dive in cold water 4C under 20 meters all year around above that we can get 10-15C and I don't bet much snot in my CL. After 2 hours in the water I maybe get 1 - 1,5 decilitre But i have a Meg so that is no problem at all /tom |

HI All, I think I'm a bit of a dribbler - I have to drain my hoses after a 1 hour dive; usually tip about a shot glass full of spit out of the exhale side...How much fluid do you get in your breathing hoses?? Do you remove them & empty them between dives?? Thanks Andy |

On our MOD1 we were told that the more relaxed you get diving a CCR the more water will be in the hoses/lungs when you first start out. Probably due to being a bit more relaxed and not closing your mouth properly around the mouthpiece. So far this is true for me, but I'm starting to get myself into sealing my mouth properly around the mouthpiece now. |

One of my (OC) dive buddies is horrified by the drool that collects in the hoses, so I usually take the opportunity to dribble it over some part of his kit for comedy value. And yes, I'm a joy to spend time with.....I think it's probably more drooling than dribbling though, but what's in a name? Cheers,

Drool: to have liquid escape from the mouth when looking at something you want [new Rebreather, totty (either sex), etc].Dribble: to have liquid escape from the mouth when you are old and senile.
