![]() | Re: list of RB80 clones after trying those ones I ended up choosing the habanero pscr made by christoph scmidtt. the habanero is almost completely made out of composite material and at least one third lighter than the halocline which is made of aircraft grade aluminum and stainless steel (except for the scrubber). also on the habanero the scrubber is inside the unit warmed up by the exhaled gas while the halocline require a neoprene cover because the scrubber is in direct contact with the water which make it impossible to use a travel frame on it. About the frame the halocline has a big heavy frame which make it very hard to travel with. the habanero only use a single tank adapter along with a compact frame making it quite useful for somebody travelling a lot. also there's a clip mecanism on the habanero frame to remove the tank from the unit in only a few second. for pricing the halocline is 5500 EURO including the OC bailout but doesn't include switchblock ,O2 gauge and frame. The habanero is 3850 EURO and it includes the OC bailout and PO2 monitor. For switchblock you'll have to pay an additional 500 euro. Trainingwise you can get the training for the Halocline at PROTEC PLAYA in Mexico From Matt (best and most well round instructor I've ever met) while the only guy training for the habanero is Chris schmidt (builder of the habanero and quite a genius) in Germany but comes once in a while in Mexico or florida. that's all the info I can come out with right now but if you have any additional question or query let me know

I believe it would help if you could post some more pics – even better if you were to do a detailed break down also a pic of the bottom part ,its not very clear What is the fixed exhalation ratio ? george (ex - pSCR diver!) |
