In my opinion there is almost no businesscase justifying the whole thing from R&D, training, warranty, documentation. It might also be that the market is just saturated now. Most diver do not NEED a rebreather for diving since their dives could be easily done on a 80cuft tank. Those wo like the technology (and i understand and accept that reason for others) are more likely buying ECCR's. But this is again my personal thinking only. Michael |

With the CE issues on top of the ones you list, this must be a very difficult market in Europe. Michael It's a shame - competition is good. Cheers,

If items are supplied outside the EU then the mark isn't required. As for an RMV keyed SCR, I think it is a good idea, it's difficult to find info out about them on google [I'm interested in the design and operation]. CMF designs are good enough-and I own one-but I use mine as a gas extenton tool, and the RB80/EDO etc give even better duration. Shame they look like a fridge on your back though. ![]()

![]() | Re: RON - Feedback Thank you for letting me know. Anyway I know at least 4 guys that would be interested in having such unit. RB80 is "imported" without being certified. Just correct me if I'm wrong. So could be that RON is manufactured outside of EU and “imported” back using similar way as RB80 does? What would be the price for certification? I guess it would be so much... . |

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: RON - Feedback Frank, it depends where the units are purchased. If you fly to the US (or any place outside the EC), purchase and train on the unit (and you likely will have to as there are only 2 instructors, both in the US), you can bring the unit back to your EC location. Other units, like Kiss or Meg, get shipped from the manufacturer directly to the customer, no problem there (yet), either. Training is usually available in the EC or close locations (Switzerland, Red Sea etc) The main problems are that units (maybe even parts) without CE can't be sold within CE boundaries and can't be used professionally (i.e. at work, including instruction) AFAIK.

Many of the units are produced in Europe, with websites in non-English (excuse my American ignorance). The developers don't respond to e-mails. If there is a used but good condition unit out there, I'd be interested! especially an EDO-4!! See post #10 ![]()
